Linux LAN slow transmission problems and private drivers of those broken things

Problem: xubuntu 12.04 is installed on one machine, and the other machine is windows 7 64bit. The sshd service is installed on xubuntu, and the file is transferred by filezilla. The past speed is generally around 2M, although it is not fast, but it is not fast. Recently dropped to 3-400k.

Why? When this happens, there should be a problem with one of the two machines or routers, but the three machines are restarted one by one, and the problem remains. I suspect that there is a problem with the network card. I use the windows machine to wirelessly transfer files to the mobile phone. The speed is normal, so I can judge that there is a problem with the netbook.

I wanted to read the log, but I thought that the speed of transmission should not be a malfunction, and the log may not be reflected. (In fact, it is not necessarily. If there is a problem in any part without affecting the transmission, there should be a lot of errors in the log, I am still lazy.) The information displayed by ifconfig is no problem. The previous linux mint has no problem, so the quickest thought is: in the end, it is different from the previous one.

The result is: don't install the broadcom STA wireless driver, this pothole private driver, it not only does not improve the transmission. Speed, but greatly affected the efficiency of the network card. And this product is still installed by default in the ubuntu series, you have to manually uninstall this garbage after loading. Another thing about private drivers is:

AMD's private drivers have two, don't install release-update (Chinese: post-release update), I have never succeeded in installing this product. Over. And this stuff and another driver is a gadget, so if you install another one to reload this, it will flush out the successfully installed driver and then give you an error message without shame.

Other things about private drivers are:

There is also a Linux driver package on the official website of amd or n card. What is the relationship with the additional driver? These two are basically one thing. All are produced by amd. The difference is that the additional driver is tested by Ubuntu (Foundation?), the version number is older, and it is released in deb package (unverified), so compatibility with Linux system can be imagined to be slightly better, and installation and Unloading is more convenient because it is in the form of deb.

The driver on the official website is the opposite. You can imagine that the version number is the latest and has not been verified by the community. After downloading, it is in the form of a .run file. You can think of it as a pre-compiled tar source package that is not open source. You have to fix it yourself and install it. When uninstalling, it is very difficult because it is not a form of deb. Amd provides an uninstall script. I want to delete all the remaining files and only find it myself.

Additional drivers This one-click driver installation program is ubuntu proprietary, so there are no distributions like fedora and opensuse. Although I think he must be open source, you can install it yourself.
