Increasingly junk spam has become a cancer on the Internet. Although most email addresses provide spam filtering, the settings are too cumbersome for users, and the spam changes are versatile. Poor, sometimes mistakenly delete normal mail. Can you "DIY" a personal anti-spam server locally? MailMate can satisfy everyone's wishes
First, MailMate works

MailMate will run on your mail server and email The working principle of MailMate between client software (such as Outlook, Foxmail, etc.) is shown in Figure 1. Every once in a while, it automatically checks and receives new mail, and stores the spam and normal mail in different virtual folders according to the built-in filtering rules. Your email client software will no longer receive from the mail server. Mail, but the normal mail after filtering is collected directly from MailMate, which is a clear difference between it and other garbage filtering tools.

Second, MailMate Configuration Wizard

1. The first time the software runs, the “Configuration Wizard” will pop up. The two dialog boxes that appear are some of the features of MailMate. You can click “Next” to skip it, and then the interface for setting up multiple email accounts will pop up.

Click the "Import Mail Account" button to directly import mail accounts in Outlook, Outlook Express or Eudora, but if you are using Foxmail or other mail client tools, you must click "Manually enter mail" Account", manually create a mail account in the pop-up "Mail Account" dialog box.

2. Click "Next", will open the dialog shown in Figure 2, we can configure popular mail receiving program here. If you are using Foxmail, you can only choose to configure it manually.

In order to prevent accidental deletion of normal mail, you need to create a list of friends' email addresses (equivalent to "white list"), and the mail address in the address list will not be filtered under any circumstances. Everyone just clicks the "Import friend email address" button to automatically import the address book of Outlook, OE or Eudora. For Foxmail, you need to export the address book as an address book file (.wab, ​​.csv, .txt), and then import MailMate.

Finally click "Finish" to close the configuration wizard. If you use the mail client software Outlook, Outlook Express or Eudora, you can use them with MailMate without any settings.

Third, manually configure your mail client

here to Foxmail 4.2 for example, select "Options → Properties → current account Mail Server", open the "Account Properties" dialog, the "Incoming mail The server is changed to "127.0.0.1", and the "POP3 mailbox account" is changed from the user name to the email address of the corresponding account. For example, for the mailbox of [email protected], the original "POP3 mailbox account" is "limei", and Now change to "[email protected]".

Fourth, adjust the filtering rules

In addition to using the "blacklist", you can also set more detailed filtering rules, for example, now we want to add such a rule, including "good" in the theme Mails with the words "Everything" are treated as spam. In the virtual folder on the left, select "Spam Rules→Mail Subject", and then click "Add" to open the "Theme Rules" dialog box, set the "Condition" to "Include", and then enter the filter keyword.
