Although the old audio playback software Winamp is still constantly upgrading, but the audio processing function has not been much improved. At this time, Foobar2000 was praised by many enthusiasts because of its good sound quality and support for many formats. Most people also use it instead of Winamp. The author is also a fan of Foobar2000. After using it, he got some practical application skills and shared it with everyone.

I. Playlist Tips

When people use Foobar2000 to play music, they often use list files. But, you know? Small list files also hide a lot of tricks. And there are many very useful applications, such as timed playback, deletion history, and more. In fact, it depends on how we dig.

1. Make the playlists sorted into categories

Select the playlist window and press Ctrl+N to create a new playlist. Then click the "Playlist" menu, choose to add files or add all the files under a folder to the playlist to the new playlist, double click on the songs to start playing. Alternatively, right-click on the list and select "Rename List" to modify the playlist name.

2. List Smart Operations

Foobar2000 is very smart and rich in list operations. Click on the "List" menu in the main window and you will find "Sort", "Find", " By removing invalid "and" remove duplicates, we can intelligently manage playlist files (Figure 1). "Sort" can sort the list by author, album, title, path, etc., so that we can put the songs of a favorite singer together, "Remove invalid" will be in the list but it is no longer Items on the hard drive are removed from the list. "Remove duplicates" removes duplicate songs from the list. These intimate features are really useful.

3.Open/save/convert playlists

Click "Playlists→Save List" to bring current The list is saved, by default it is fpl format. Of course, we can also select the "Save as type" drop-down list box, save it as m3u type, and play it for Winamp or other playback software. You can also read the list file into the list by selecting "Playlist → Read List". Of course, since Foobar2000 supports multiple playlist files, we can also use the "read/save" method to convert playlist files.

4. Let the songs be placed in the list

Select a song, right click and select the "send to list" command, click the list box in the pop-up window, select the corresponding list to select the song Sent to the list (Figure 2). If you enter a new name, a new list will be created and the song will be sent.

Many times, we will add a lot of songs to the player. There is only one of them that we really like to listen to. I hope to be able to play it in a loop. How can we listen to it once? In Foobar 2000, it's relatively simple. Second, the song universal conversion

If you download the songs are not all MP3 format or WMA format, it will not be able to play in the MP3 player. At this time, you can use Foobar2000's universal conversion function to convert it to MP3 or WMA format: first add the song files to the playlist, then select these files, right click and select "Convert → Run Converter" (Figure 4) . Then follow the prompts to select "File Write Preset" as "Command Line Encoder: LAME -altpreset extreme". Then indicate the location of the converted music file, and the conversion will start automatically.

Tips

If we have a CD in our drive, click on “Plug-in Components→Play Music CD”. After selecting the disc as prompted, all the music files on the CD will be automatically inserted into the Foobar playlist. You can also select the corresponding track and select "Convert → Run Converter". We can also choose to capture the tracks on the CD. Take it as MP3, WMA or other format.

3. Combine multiple favorite songs into one song

If you have some favorite songs on hand and want to merge them into one song, you don’t need third-party software. Add files to the playlist, then drag and drop them with the mouse to adjust the order, then select them, then right click, select "Convert → Run Converter, separate file output", and then select "File Write Preset" "For the corresponding format, you can convert the selected song to a song file.

Tips

Under "Conversion" there is also a "Converter Settings" command, which allows you to set the conversion in more detail if the source file to be converted is a lossless format such as a CD. , WAV, etc., it is recommended to set the "preferred bit depth" under it, such as 24, 32, etc., which can improve the playback quality of the final output file (Figure 5).

Fourth, play the global hotkey

If you want to play Foobar2000 between the palms, Instead of switching between the past to adjust the volume, or adjust the song up and down. That must use its global hotkey function.

Select "Core → Shortcuts" in Foobar2000, click on an item in the "Specified Shortcuts" above, press Ctrl+A, and then click the "Remove" button. Check the "Global Hotkey" checkbox below to indicate that the added hotkey is global. Then specify the corresponding item at the bottom of the window. After completing one, click the "Add" button to the left of the "Remove" button to add it. Go to the "Assigned Shortcuts" above and confirm that there is a "Full" before. Follow this step to set your own global shortcuts (Figure 6). When all is done, select the "Save All" button below the window below.

As long as you add songs to the playlist, then report in Word or surf in IE, you can use the global hotkey to control Foobar2000. .

Tips

After setting, please save the foobar2000.cfg file in the Foobar2000 installation folder. After the next reinstallation, you can restore it, so you don't have to reset it again. hot key.
