                   Recently, when I browsed a software forum, I saw a post about the installation parameters of Storm Video. After the release of 6.0 version of Storm Video, many storm fans found that it added more rogue software while adding new features. So the storm fan developed a way to avoid binding the rogue software with certain parameters. It happened that the author was worried about the rogue software that was forced to install due to the installation of Storm Video, so I quickly tested it on this machine.

According to the meaning of the parameter, click "Start /Run", enter "E:\\StormCodec6.01.28.exe /S /2052 /noebayie /nomobile /noxunlei /noyahoo /quickasso /skipcheck" in the dialog box and hit enter Key (assuming the storm video 6 installation file is stored in "E:\\StormCodec6.01.28.exe"), as stated in the text, it should not install eBay, Thunder and other software, directly make the installation program in the background according to the default settings of Storm video Automatically install software (Simplified Chinese language). However, after the installation, the author found that "Start /All Programs /Storm Video" also contains a menu of rogue software (Figure 1), there are also shortcuts to the eBay website on the desktop. In other words, using the installation parameters does not "hide" the bundled rogue software.

At this point, the author noticed a small comment on this parameter: the English version is not automatically established. So first uninstall the Simplified Chinese version of Storm Video, re-execute the installation file, select the "English" language in the "Installer Language" dialog box that pops up (Figure 2), click the "OK" button to enter the installation wizard. . In the installation wizard, click the "Next" button, click on the "I Agree" agreement and enter the "Choose Components" step. In the component list, you do not see the software bundled rogue software project (as shown in the figure). 3). All the way to "Next" continues to install, and the rogue software bundled with the program is not found after the installation is completed. It seems that if you want to truly reject rogue software bundled with Storm Video, it is a good idea to install the English version of the language.

If you have a very big storm on the English interface, it is a bit tricky to use. I will introduce you to a good method. You can install the Chinese language storm video and enter C :\\Program Files\\Ringz Studio\\Storm Codec\\" folder, back up the "mplayerc.exe" file. After uninstalling the storm video, install it again (uninstall the bundled rogue software together), select the English language this time, and then replace the mplayerc.exe file with the target file. In this way, whether you have avoided the rogue software, you can also see the familiar text interface.
