Let the MSN icon reside in the Windows 7 notification area

Although the status of Tencent QQ in the domestic IM market is unmatched, but sometimes it needs other IM assistance, such as MSN. When Windows 7 is released, many people will always get used to MSN. The main reason is that Windows 7's taskbar design makes MSN always occupy a taskbar after running, instead of being able to do it as before. Minimized to the system tray area.

Although I have become accustomed to using the Windows 7 taskbar as a desktop to spread the program shortcuts, the MSN icon is also used here, but everyone has their own habits, so no There are also many people who like this. So, is there a way to get the MSN icon into the notification area of Windows 7? The answer is naturally yes, and the method is easy.

First enter the MSN installation directory, MSN installation is a fixed path, so it will only be in the Program Files\\Windows Live\\Messenger directory of the system disk;

find the msnmsgr.exe startup program File, right-click--property;

Switch to the "Compatibility" tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode", then select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) from the drop-down menu to confirm exit.

Now run MSN again to see if the system notification area has a familiar icon. After logging in, you can click the big fork button in the upper right corner of the MSN main interface. Well, the MSN icon on the taskbar disappears and you return to the previous state.

By the way, other programs can also solve the problem of minimizing the inability to reside in the notification area in the same way. If you have this need, you can try it yourself.
