Teach you how to make FlashGet reduce the damage to the hard disk

If you are a downloader, you will definitely notice the following situation: When downloading files with tools such as FlashGet, you will find that the hard disk will squeak. Most people think that it is the sound of the hard disk rotation when downloading files. But if you only use the ordinary small "cat" to download, the hard drive will not have such a loud sound. What is going on here?

Originally, FlashGet has a regular disk write. By default, every time you receive 20KB of data, you can write to the hard disk. Of course, this is no problem for friends who only use small "cats". Because the download speed of the kitten can only be about 7kbps. However, the download speed of broadband is 50kbps on average, so the hard disk should be written 2~3 times in every second. The faster the network speed, the greater the impact on the life of the hard disk.

Open the "Tools → Options → General → Write Data to Disk Every Time Received" option on the toolbar (as shown). The value behind is 20 by default. At this time, you can modify it according to the actual situation of your own broadband. Generally, it can be set to 100KB. After setting up, start FlashGet again, and find that it is much quieter when you download the file again. Of course, the damage to the hard disk is also reduced.
