How does Win10 speed up the startup of desktop applications?

Since the beginning of Windows Vista, Microsoft has accelerated the boot speed by delaying application loading. This feature is called "startup delay". In the Win10 Technology Preview, when the operating system starts, it will delay the loading of the programs in the "Startup" folder, especially when the start screen in Windows 10 is enabled.

It will allow users to feel faster startup speed. However, the Win10 preview now provides a fully desktop, windowed way of operation, let's take a look at how to cancel this startup delay.
First step, first open the registry editor. You can open the run window with the Windows logo key +R, type “regedit” and press Enter to start. You can also search directly in the Start menu of the Win10 Preview.

second step, expand the left side of the registry in the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerSerialize, you probably could not find the final Serialize term, it does not matter, we can create a new item in the Explorer below. Right-click on the Explorer item and select “New”——“Item” and name it "Serialize".

The third step, in the right side of the Serialize item, by clicking the right mouse button, create a new DWORD value, the name is "StartupDelayInMSec" (without quotes), and then double-click the key to change it to ”0“ (without quotes), you can be sure. The specific effect is shown below:

After completing the above steps, restart the computer to apply the settings. If you have a lot of startup items in the "Startup" folder in your Win10 preview, you will see them start up faster, although this delay cannot be completely eliminated, but the promotion is still obvious. . Of course, if there is no startup program in the startup folder, you may not see any changes after setting the item.
