How to establish an L2TP VPN dial-up connection in the Win10 system

  

L2TP dialing is generally used for enterprise-specific VPN networks. Because network access requirements require LNC authentication, network security is guaranteed. If the user needs to establish an L2TP VPN in the Win10 system, it can be created as follows.

L2TP dialing is an industry standard Internet tunneling protocol. It uses point-to-point connections. L2TP requires point-to-point connections for data packets. Multi-tunnel is used to provide header compression and tunnel authentication.

Operation Preparation:

This article describes how to set up L2TP Over IPSec (Encryption Tunnel) in Win10 system.

Before setting up, please make sure that the Win10 system's computer and L2TP server are connected to the network. The parameters involved in the text are as follows:

Note: The parameter configuration here is for reference only. The actual parameters are subject to the actual environment.

Setting Method:

Step 1. Create VPN Connection

1. Right click on the wired network icon in the lower right corner of the desktop of the computer;

(or wireless network icon) , click to open the network and sharing center (or right click on the network on the desktop, click on Properties, go to the Network and Sharing Center page), and click to set up a new connection or network, as shown below:

2, choose to connect to work Zone, click Next. As shown below:

3, choose to use my Internet connection (VPN) (I), as shown below:

4, enter the address of the VPN server in the Internet address, click Create, as shown below:

After the VPN client is created, in the change adapter settings, there is an additional VPN connection icon, as shown below:

Step 2, connect VPN Server

1. Double-click the VPN connection icon. In the pop-up settings page, find the VPN connection and click Advanced Settings, as shown below:

2. Edit the VPN connection settings. To select the VPN type as L2TP/IPsec using the pre-shared key, enter the pre-shared key, and fill in the L2TP account and password respectively in the username and password, as shown in the following figure:

Note: If VPN If the server does not have a pre-shared key, you can leave this blank.

3, return to the VPN connection settings page, click on the previous page after the parameters are confirmed, as shown below:

4, click on the connection, as shown below:

5, after the connection is successful, the page status will show connected. As shown below:

Note: If you subsequently modify the VPN server parameters, you can click the advanced option to modify.

At this point, setting up the L2TP VPN connection on the Win10 system is complete.
