Win10 changes the distance between desktop icons through the registry.

  

The distance between the desktop icons of the computer system is fixed. Users of Win7 and Win8 can modify the icon distance in the advanced appearance settings, but the Win10 system does not have this. Function, then the icon of the Win10 system desktop can not be modified? The following small series teaches you how to use the registry to modify the Win10 desktop icon spacing.

Steps

1. Press Win+R to open the run, enter regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor;

2. Expand the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Control Panel\\Desktop\\WindowMetrics

3. You will find a string value called IconSpacing on the right side that represents the horizontal spacing between desktop icons. The algorithm is:

-15*pitch pixel value

For example, the default value is -1125, which means that the horizontal spacing is 75 pixels (px). Modify it to the value you need, such as 100 pixels, and change the IconSpacing value to -1500.

4, modify the value IconVerticalSpacing same way, the value represents the vertical spacing between the desktop icon.

5. After the modification is completed, cancel the account and log in to the system again. Then uncheck "“ align icon with grid" in the right-click menu — view, and then re-tick. After

you will find the distance between the desktop icon becomes large, as shown below:
