Win7/Win8.1/Win10 installer error 2502/2503 solution

  

When using some Windows Installer installers, installation and uninstallation failures sometimes occur with error codes 2502 or 2503. However, in addition to these codes, Microsoft did not provide a solution. This problem occurs in Win7/Win8.1/Win10 because the C:\\Windows\\Temp folder has NTFS permissions error.

In order to make the Windows Installer operate correctly, the current account needs to have full administrator rights to the Temp folder. However, many times this folder has a bit of a problem, so you need to set the permissions manually. The author reminds that the Temp folder is C:\\Windows\\Temp, not C:\\Users\\\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\, or other Temp, don't make a mistake.

The method is not difficult, as follows:

1, enter C:\\Windows\\Temp, right click on the Temp folder, select “properties”, as shown below ——

2, find the "Security" tab, click “Advanced", as shown below ——

3, in the popup "Temp's permission item" click on the top of the window and click "Select Subject", as shown below ——

4, you need to fill in the current account name, if you are not sure, you can Right click the start button, select Computer Management → System Tools → Local Users and Groups → Users, view the current account “ Name & rdquo; (not & ldquo; full name & rdquo;), as shown below ——

5, in the “Select User or Group” window, fill in the user name found in the previous step, and then click “Check Name”, the system will give the standard name of the account in the machine, click “ OK, you can, as shown below ——


6, the account is added successfully, in the "basic permissions" Select “Full Control", click “OK>, as shown below ——

7, in the "Advanced Security Settings of Temp", you can see that the account has been obtained. Full control of the Temp folder, click “ OK & rdquo; will appear in the "Windows Security" dialog box, click & ldquo; OK & rdquo;, as shown below — —


8. In the Temp property, you can see the full control permission of the current account. Click “OK” to end debugging, as shown below ——

At this point, try again. The problem with the Windows Installer installation package, the problem should not appear again.
