After rebooting, the installer performs the steps to roll back Windows7/Windows 8.1 and prompts to upgrade Windows10 with the error code 0xC1900101 – 0x30018.

Anannya Podder, a forum moderator and support engineer in the Microsoft community, gave a solution to the problem, saying the problem was caused by incompatible drivers or hardware. She said that Microsoft is currently working with related hardware vendors to resolve various compatibility issues as soon as possible.

The following is the basic solution to this problem:

1. Unplug any connected USB devices, including external monitors, before starting the installation process.

2. Check whether all hardware of the current device supports Win10 system, which can be confirmed by the hardware manufacturer's official website. It is also necessary to upgrade the existing hardware driver through Windows update program.

3. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter (allowing the program to use administrator privileges) to detect and fix any Windows update errors.

4. Uninstall all the useless drivers by the following command:

1 After entering CMD in the search box, select the first result and click on it. Right click and select "Run as administrator", as shown below -

2 Execute the following command in it (after copying and pasting, press Enter, as shown below):

rundll32. Exe pnpclean.dll, RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN

5, run the disk cleanup program, and choose to clean up the system files (as shown below);

6, restart the device.

7. In some cases, the NIC driver may also have compatibility problems. Therefore, it is recommended that the related users use the Win10 official version of the ISO image installation method to upgrade. At this time, it is not recommended to use the default push upgrade mode. After successfully downloading the image, it is best to uninstall the wireless network card driver (if any) and temporarily use a wired network connection during the installation process.

8, after the upgrade is turned on, do not select "Download and install updates", but should select "not now" (above) to avoid any compatibility issues that may result from the automatic installation of the driver.
