WINDOWS 7 Disk Management Tool Creating and Deleting Partitions

  
This article describes the use of the disk management tools that come with the WINDOWS 7 system to create and delete partitions. Because it is a system tool, it creates and adjusts software compared to professional partitions, such as Partition Magic and Acronis Disk Director Suite. Diskgenius still has some limitations, but generally the same effect can be achieved by a flexible approach. This article only covers the disk management tools in the Control Panel, the next supplemental summary of the command line format. The method in this paper is equally applicable to the Vista system.
First, enter the Windows 7 disk management tool
Click: Start menu -> Control Panel, if it is in the category view, click & ldquo; system and security & rdquo; select the right side of the "create and format "Hard disk partition" (in the "Administrative Tools" column, if it is in the icon view, click & ldquo; management tools & rdquo; -> computer management, then select disk management.

Second, create a new partition
If you have unallocated free space on your hard disk, as shown above, you can use the following method to create a new partition.
1, right-click on the free space, select Create Simple Volume
2, enter the Create Simple Volume Wizard, as shown below:

3, enter the size of the volume to be created, in megabytes (MB) For the unit, for example, the following is 44.047G, which is 44047MB. How to set a reasonable volume size, please refer to: a few comments on the choice of hard disk partition capacity and number of partitions. In the wizard, the default size of the volume is the rest of the free space, so if you do not modify, the remaining free idle will be assigned to this partition, so that the user only needs a green light to click the next step.

4, the allocation of the drive number, the general default can be, if you need to adjust later, you can manually modify.

5, format partition settings, here you choose, if you choose not to format this volume, you can manually format after the creation is completed, the following option is a format option, you can choose a good file system (NTFS, FAT32 ), allocation unit size, volume label, etc., once the parameters are set, Windows 7 will automatically complete the formatting.

6. After creating a screen capture, the D partition in the figure below is a new project. The green 21.51 is intended to create another partition, so stay first.

Third, delete the partition
Warning: deleting the partition may cause the entire data of the partition to be damaged or lost, please confirm that the partition data has been transferred or backed up before deleting the partition, and in operation, You need to confirm that the operation partition object is correct.
Delete method:
1, on the volume to be deleted, right mouse button, select “ delete volume &

2, pop-up delete volume warning message, confirm deletion, click Yes.

3. After the deletion is completed, the space will become available for free.
