in Win 7 and Vista Using Microsoft's ReadyBoost technology, we can increase the main memory of our computer and convert the flash memory (USB memory) to virtual main memory. This feature is available on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
With this feature, we can speed up the extra virtual main memory with the help of our computer. We can't use ReadyBoost on our computer with a variety of USB memory. It should meet some minimum requirements to make ReadyBoost technology.
The system requires USB memory as virtual system memory
* USB memory should have at least 256 MB
* USB memory or less than 1 millisecond access time.
* It should have a read speed of at least 2.5 MB/s and a write speed of 1.75 MB/s
Steps to convert the virtual RAM memory of the USB memory
Steps of converting to the USB memory virual RAM memory Please follow the steps below.
1. Connect to your computer's USB memory (Vista or Windows 7)
2. Right click on the USB drive and take “properties”
3. Click on the ReadyBoost feature and application on the tabs. Now, if your USB memory meets all the required ReadyBoost features, it will be converted to virtual memory. For your computer, you can see an obvious performance boost. .
To remember, while using the ReadyBoost feature
in Windows Vista, it is limited to 4 GB, while in Windows 7, it is connected by up to 8 different USB storage, up to 256 GB of extra memory . The Windows operating system Vista does not support ReadyBoost technology. Currently, ReadyBoost technology is not supported in Windows Server 2008.
