Windows 7 RC Common Software Compatibility Test Report (Compression and Decompression)

Test Background:

On May 5, 2009, Microsoft officially released the Windows 7 RC version. Unlike the Beta version, the Windows 7 RC version is almost identical to the official version released in the future, so Windows 7 RC will be an important version for users who want to transfer their daily operating systems to Windows 7. And the compatibility test of commonly used software on the RC version has practical significance. Because many people are eager for Windows 7, but the unknown software compatibility makes them “desperate” to Windows 7. In order to allow users to have a reference before moving to Windows 7, Huajun Information will test the compatibility of commonly used software on Windows 7 RC.

Test Process:

This article will first test the compatibility of the famous four compression and decompression software WinRAR, WinZip, 7-Zip and WinAce. The test process is: first install and use the four compression software on Windows 7 RC to test whether they can run normally on Windows 7 RC; then copy the compressed package made on Windows 7 RC to Windows XP Unzip to detect compatibility of file interactions between the two operating systems.

Test Results:

After testing, I found that these four commonly used compression software can be installed and used normally on Windows 7 RC, and the compression package generated on Windows 7 RC is transmitted to XP. There will be no incompatibility issues afterwards, and there is no such thing as a high to low incompatibility between Office 2007 and Office 2003.

This compatibility test prepares several major types of installed software. All the participating software basically downloads the latest simplified Chinese version from the official website, which not only ensures the fairness and accuracy of the test, but also is close to the user's daily use habits.
