There was a problem when Windows XP upgraded Windows7

Windows XP upgrades Windows 7 is not always so smooth, and sometimes there are still a variety of problems that make users have a headache. According to foreign media reports, many users who want to upgrade Windows 7 have problems when installing new systems. This issue is mainly related to some users who perform the so-called "net installation" (removing all data). Vista users can upgrade Windows 7 in place, and the issue does not affect Vista users. Conversely, this problem occurs repeatedly when Windows XP users clean install Windows 7.

According to reports, in some cases, a security feature of the Microsoft system does not allow users to install the Windows 7 upgrade version on a blank disk, because these versions will be used by the existing Windows installation copy on the computer.

Although the upgrade cost of XP users is higher than that of Vista users, when XP users input the Windowss registration code, an error message appears: Software Licensing Service stipulates that the specified product key can only be specified. Used for upgrades, not for net installations.

However, some unofficial technicians have found a way to solve this problem. Technicians recommend that XP users who install Windows 7 upgrades do not enter product keys during the installation process. Instead, XP users should go directly to the next step and enter the product key when the installation is complete.

For the problems that arise when many students upgrade, the University of Wisconsin-Madison IT department released the announcement "Resolving Windows 7 Issues".

Microsoft has not responded to this question. Analysts believe that if the problem is fixed, the user may illegally upgrade Windows 7 on a PC that does not have an upgrade qualification.

Of course, the problems in the upgrade process are large and small. Everyone encounters different situations and cannot be generalized. However, the most important thing is to solve the problem well. Only after solving the problem can the upgrade be smooth.
