Comprehensive analysis of the various reasons for the failure of Win 7 installation

I believe that everyone has installed their own system, especially nowadays generally installed win 7, but it is normal to install the system is not successful, but many of them The reason, the following small series will tell you about it.

According to Microsoft insiders, Microsoft will complete the entire R&D work on Windows 7 in July, and deliver the compiled Windows 7 CD-ROM to its partner OEM in mid-July. Batch production of Windows 7 color packaging products, and distributed to computer manufacturers for Windows 7 pre-installation. If you don't dive, the user will purchase the color-packaged version of Windows 7 on October 22. Regardless, Windows 7 RTM is at your fingertips. At this time, for individual users, especially enterprise users, the deployment of Windows 7 has been put on the agenda. This article will discuss some of the issues related to Windows 7 installation and deployment from the perspective of individual users.

I believe that many users have installed and used some versions before Windows 7 RTM. From the perspective of the average user, you should see that Windows 7 is different from the previous system in installation. Among them, there are several changes that are very obvious and require everyone to understand and pay attention.

1. Give the user 30 days of buffering time for the system

When installing Windows 7, you need to enter the serial number as usual, but it is in the final stage of installation. At this point, you can enter the authorized serial number. Of course, our Windows 7 installer will also prompt the user to enter the serial number at this moment, as long as the serial number is added within 30 days of the normal operation of the system.

In fact, this feature is also available in Vista, but many people may not know. In fact, such a strategy is very beneficial to the user. Because, sometimes, we are anxious to install Windows 7 system for some applications, and there is no serial number at hand, this strategy gives users a 30-day buffer period, allowing users to install the system and ensure its normal use, then Carefully add the serial number and activate it.

2. Make the system more secure and reliable hidden partitions

If the bare machine is newly installed Windows 7, or use the partition tool that comes with the installer to re-partition during installation, after the installation is completed Everyone will find a mysterious hidden partition in the disk manager, such a partition is not available in the previous system installation. This hidden partition has puzzled many users, and there are many ways to delete or avoid the hidden partition in the forum.

However, this hidden partition is usually unavoidable and cannot be deleted under normal circumstances. If the user uses a third-party tool to force the deletion of the hidden partition, the system will fail to start without exception. In fact, many users do this because they don't understand this hidden partition and don't know its role. The author below analyzes this hidden partition.

The first thing to say is that the size of this hidden partition is different in each version of Windows 7. In the bate version of Windows 7, the hidden partition is 200M. From the RC version of Windows 7 and later versions, the hidden partition size is changed to 100MB, but in any case, the effect is the same. During the Windows 7 installation process, it will first create a hidden partition of about 100M at the beginning of the disk, and then install Windows 7 in another partition. The benefits of doing this are:

(1). When we enabled Bit-Locker in Windows 7 or when recovering from a system, this partitioning mode provided us with convenience and security. Because Bit-Locker and system recovery will not operate on the partition, the system boot file saved in it will be protected from damage to ensure the normal boot of the computer.

(2). The isolation of the system boot file and the system file is realized, and the avoiding party is destroyed and the fish is caught. Usually, we are used to the system to install the entire Windows in the C drive. In fact, the boot process of Windows is technically divided into two steps: Windows System partition and Boot partition. The System partition saves the startup files necessary for Windows startup, such as the boot sector (mbr), the corresponding boot files, third-party drivers such as RID hard disk support, and so on. The so-called Boot partition is actually what we usually call C:, which contains most of the files needed for Windows to run. So, the Windows System partition is a relatively small partition, and this hidden partition is the Windows System partition that is isolated from the usual system partition.

(3). Another benefit is obvious: when our system fails, or if we want to install a dual system, and when Bit-Locker is enabled, saving the boot file in the hidden partition avoids the above operation. Modification or destruction of the System partition, so that all operations are directed to the Windows Boot partition.

Based on the above analysis of the importance and role of this hidden partition, I recommend that you keep the partition when you install Windows 7. After all, it does not take up much space, and it is critical to the security and stability of the system.
