Web Server Overview

The Web Server, also known as the WWW Server, is a server that places general websites. Multiple websites can be created on one web server. The owners of each website only need to put the prepared web pages and related files on the web server's website, and other users can use the browser to access the web pages in the website.

We configure the web server, which is to set up the website on the server and set the relevant parameters. As for the webpage in the website, it should be made by the maintenance personnel of the website and uploaded to the server. This work is not part of the configuration server. jobs.

IIS Installation

Generally, IIS is not installed by default when you install the operating system, so you need to install IIS when you configure the Web server for the first time. The installation method is:

1. Open the “Control Panel” and open “Add/Remove Programs” to pop up the “Add/Remove Programs” window.

2. Click the "Add/Remove Windows Components" icon in the window to bring up the "Windows Components Wizard" dialog box.

3, select the "Wizard" in the "Application Server" check box. Click the Details button to bring up the Application Server dialog.

4, select the required components, where "Internet Information Services (IIS)" and "Application Server Console" must be selected. After selecting "Internet Information Service (IIS)", click the "Details" button to bring up the "Internet Information Services (IIS)" dialog box.

5, select "Internet Information Services Manager" and "Web services." And after selecting "World Wide Web Service", click the "Details" button to bring up the "World Wide Web Service" dialog box.

6, one of the "Web services" must be checked. If you want the server to support ASP, you should also select Active Server Pages. Click the "OK" button one by one to close each dialog box until you return to the "Windows Components Wizard" dialog box in Figure 1.

7, click the "Next" button, the system starts IIS installation, during this period may require the installation of Windows Server 2003 installation disk, the system will automatically install.

8. After the installation is complete, a dialog box prompting the installation is displayed, and clicking the "OK" button completes the installation of IIS.
