1. Use System Restore to easily return to the soul

System Restore is a standard system function that has become a core component of the system since Windows ME. As the system is upgraded, this feature is more complete. The system restore function of Windows 7 is still greatly improved compared with the previous system.

On the desktop, right-click on the computer and select Properties to go to the System page of the Control Panel. In the left pane, click the System Protection link to enter the System Restore Settings window.

(1) System settings and file version restores

For Windows 7, system restore includes system settings restore and text version restore, which we usually call System environment and shadow copies. Normally, Windows 7 only has system protection enabled in the system partition, and includes both system restore and file version restore. However, in Windows 7, system restore and file version restore can be split. The usual practice is to enable system restore and file version recovery at the same time in the system partition, and only open the file version restore in other partitions. This not only improves system performance, but also saves disk space. The setting method is to select the disk partition that needs to be set in the system protection tab, and then click the configuration button to enter the configuration page. You can see that there are three options under the restore settings: selecting the first restore system settings and the previous version of the file will open the system restore and shadow copy of the partition; select the second to restore only the previous version of the file only open The shadow copy feature of the partition; selecting the third item to turn off system protection will turn off both functions in that partition.

(2)Manually create a restore point

After the system recovery of the partition is enabled, its system partition will create a restore point to the system at intervals (default once a day), or install the application on the system. The restore point is established when the software and driver. For the other non-system partitions, only the shadow copy function is enabled, and when the file in the partition is modified, a shadow copy of the file is created. It should be noted that when setting protection for a partition, you first need to create a restore point for the partition, so that system restore is available when performing system restore or file recovery. The method of creating a restore point is very simple. Click the Create button in the System Protection tab to pop up the Create Restore Point Wizard. (3) The way the system is restored

In general, system restoration is a last resort. Generally, it is used when a certain software or driver is installed and the software conflicts, and the system is unstable or even crashes. As far as Windows 7 is concerned, there are two ways to restore the system: one is to enter the system in the system properties window, click the system protection tab, first select the system partition that needs to be restored, and then click System Restore. The button launches the System Restore Wizard,

Selecting a Recent Restore Point Follow the wizard to complete the system restore process. As for the restore of the file version, you can right-click on the file to select the previous version, and then select a version from the file version list to restore or copy.

Sometimes the system is more serious and cannot be started in normal mode. At this point we can try to enter the safe mode to start the system restore, if you can not enter the security mode, we can choose to restore the system from the system recovery options console to restore the system. Press and hold the F8 key while the system is booting to enter the system advanced boot options menu, select Repair computer and press Enter to enter the System Recovery Options console. In this process, you need to select a user and enter a password to log in. Select and click System Restore to launch the System Restore Wizard, and the restore process is the same as in normal mode. In addition, running Startup Repair starts the system repair function, which runs System Image Recovery to recover the system from the backed up system image. It should be noted that Vista can also perform system restore in offline state, but it needs to use the Vista system installation disk to boot the system into the system recovery options console. In Windows 7, there is no need to install a disk, because Windows 7 has integrated it into the system.

We can save the backup to any non-system partition with enough space on the local, and of course it can be saved to a network location, such as a file server. If you want to save it locally, I recommend that you save it in a partition of another local hard disk. For backup content, Windows 7 saves data from all users' libraries, desktops, and Windows folders by default, and also creates a system image. Of course, some backup items are not what we need, so we can customize what we want to back up as shown in Figure 5. It is important to note that after customizing the backup task, the system will perform the backup plan every Sunday at 19:00, which is very easy for some administrators to ignore. Of course, we can also perform an immediate backup or change the backup plan.

(2) System Restore

Generally, when the system is faulty, unstable, or reinstalled, the system configuration can be quickly restored or migrated through the restore function. Enter the backup and restore center of Windows 7, users can restore from backup as needed. For example, you can restore only my files and restore all user files. In addition, we can also restore from other backups. Of course, if you have done a backup of the system image before, you can perform a restore of the entire system. Click Restore System Settings or Computer Link to enter the System Recovery window and click the Advanced Recovery Method link to enter the Advanced Recovery Method window. Here, there are two recovery methods for you to choose: First, restore the computer with the image, provided that the system image has been created before; second, reinstall the system with the Windows 7 installation disk, and then restore our files from the backup. Based on this consideration, you can save the system image on a DVD disc or save it somewhere on the network.

First, we can use Dism to get the system version information in the image, and execute the command dism /get-wininfo /wimfile:c:testimagesinstall.wim. The install.wim is the installation package of Windows 7, and the get-wininfo parameter is used to obtain the package information.

Secondly, we can use the Dism command to load the system image in any directory. The command is dism /mount-win /wimfile:c:testimagesinstall.wim /index:4 /mountdir:c:testservicing to execute dism /get-mountedwiminfo gets the information about loading Dism images. The Dism/image and /online parameters are used to implement the operation of the Dism load system image. For example, run the command dism /image:c:testservicing /add-driver /driver:c:testdriversUX6000vx60000.inf to add a new drive to the target system image. Run the command dism /image:c:testservicing /get-drivers to view the driver information.

If you want to uninstall the Dism image, you can execute the dism /unmount-win /mountdir:c:testservicing /discard command. In addition, execute dism /image:c:testservicing /get-intl to get the language information of the current image. Dism /image:c:testservicing /set-uilang:zh-cn is to set the system language to Chinese, dism /image:c:testservicing /set-timezone:China Standard Time is to set the system time to Chinese standard time. The use of Dism is more complicated, and it can be used flexibly to implement various operations on the system image.
