Basic knowledge of mobile power

1, polymer batteries are not necessarily safer than 18650 batteries

I believe many people have heard this saying: 18650 batteries have the danger of explosion, and polymer batteries are the worst The situation is that it will catch fire and will not explode, so the polymer battery is safer than the 18650 battery.

In theory, this is true. The reality is not the case. The 18650 battery is packaged in steel and is not easily deformed. After long-term development, the process is now very mature. Such as Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and other international manufacturers produced 18650 batteries, stable discharge performance, stable battery life, and through the excellent circuit design to achieve security, the probability of explosion is very low.

Although the polymer cell is theoretically safer, the lithium ion inside the cell is paste-like, and the external package is made of aluminum plastic film. The texture is soft, easy to deform and not resistant to collision. The technical difficulty is high, and the production requirements of the manufacturer are high. At present, there are only a few manufacturers capable of producing high-quality polymer batteries in China, and the overvoltage protection adopted by different manufacturers is very different. Therefore, in the current domestic market, polymer batteries are not necessarily safer than 18650 batteries.

2, mobile power capacity is not as big as possible

Many people will think that the larger the battery capacity, the longer the use time. Searching for mobile power sales on the Internet will reveal that the hot-selling power supply is tens of thousands of milliamps. So, is the mobile power supply the bigger the better?

It should be known that the capacity and volume of the mobile power supply are directly proportional, and the larger the capacity, the larger the volume. Therefore, when you purchase, you should follow your own needs. If you don't travel frequently, you don't have to take a piece of “brick” to run around.

Moreover, the phenomenon of virtual standard on the market is still very serious. The bad manufacturers use high capacity to blind consumers, and the actual capacity of the products is much lower than the marked capacity, so these ultra-large-capacity mobile power sources cannot be trusted.

3, mobile power price is only a reference standard

The cost of mobile power mainly includes three parts of the battery, circuit board and casing. Generally speaking, the production of mobile power using 18650 batteries The cost is lower than the mobile power of the polymer battery. The corresponding price range, for example, 10000mAH, the mobile power supply price of 18650 batteries is usually 200 to 250 yuan, and the mobile power supply price of polymer batteries is usually 350 to 400 yuan.

Of course, some mobile power supplies with superior design or multiple functions are more expensive. If coupled with the brand effect, the price will be several times higher. For example, the author once saw a 2000mAH mobile power supply in the Apple store, the price is as high as 499 yuan.

In short, to measure the advantages and disadvantages of a mobile power supply, from the aspects of charging performance, durability, safety, conversion efficiency, appearance, etc., the price is only one of the reference standards, and the quality cannot be completely determined.

4, mobile power will not cause damage to mobile phones and tablets

Many friends are worried that the use of mobile power will cause damage to mobile phones and tablets, in fact, mobile power and we use mobile phone tablets The charging of the included adapter is the same and will not cause damage to the device.

There are two criteria for measuring whether it will cause damage. One is the voltage limit, and the other is the stability of the voltage. If a mobile power supply can provide a suitable voltage stably, then it is safe, but it is safe. It is not excluded that various inferior manufacturers will produce power supplies with unstable voltage and unsuitable amounts.
