How does Win7 use Uefi to boot the system?

First, the BIOS boot:

1, the traditional computer is usually used BIOS boot, boot BIOS initialization, then BIOS self-test, then boot the operating system → enter the system, display the desktop.

2, CD boot:

In the case of BIOS boot, usually use the installation CD to maintain, install the operational system, as long as you find the CD-ROM (or DVD, motherboard menu is not the same) use Press the up and down keys, select this item, press the Enter key to confirm, press the F10 key, restart the computer, you will be able to recognize the installation CD inside the CD-ROM drive.

3, U disk boot:

Under the BIOS boot, U disk PE system operation and CD-ROM boot setting method is similar, as long as the USB option is found (some motherboards display U disk model ), set to the first startup item, restart the computer will read the U disk PE system.

Second, Uefi boot:

1, Uefi boot process is to boot Uefi boot, then, directly boot the operating system, enter the system. Compared with the traditional BIOS boot, UEFI boot has a process of BIOS self-test, so the boot will be faster, which has become the new favorite of the computer.

2, for example, Acer's new computer defaults to Uefi boot. If you need to use the U disk PE system, you may not recognize the U disk. At this point, you need to make some adjustments. Insert the U disk PE system that has been created, boot quickly (slowly read the hard disk directly) Press F12 to enter the setting interface. The figure below is the key value of each brand machine or motherboard entering the BIOS startup settings (for reference only).

3, enter the main interface of the settings, continue to click on the Boot menu, the right side of the Boot mode is the current boot mode, the default is Uefi boot.

4. Select the Enter key. After opening the setting item, there are two options: UEFI and Legacy (selected with the up and down keys), and the boot mode selects Legacy.

5. Click OK to confirm the change to Legacy boot mode.

6. Prompt to ask if you want to restart the computer now? Click yes to restart the computer and the boot menu will be displayed.

7, enter this interface, I believe that many old users familiar with the BIOS are relieved, the first (HDD) is the hard disk boot, the second (USB) is the U disk boot, the third (Network) is Network boot.

8, set up the U disk boot (USB), restart the computer will recognize the U disk PE system has been made. The next step is the graphical interface, and there are Chinese instructions, so I don't have to go into details.

9, However, because the early Win7 operating system has not seen the Uefi boot system, it does not support GPT Boot on Uefi boot (suitable for Win8 operating system), and between MBR and GPT is not Compatible, if you want to install Win7 operating system, you must convert the disk to MBR boot. This type of maintenance tool is now available in the U disk PE system.

10. Note: Converting the disk format requires clearing all partitions and data on the disk, so be sure to save all important data on the disk before proceeding. After entering the Win7 installation interface, you can also use the command to convert the disk boot mode without using the maintenance tool: Press Shift + F10 to open a command prompt. Input: Diskpart Press Enter to enter the operation interface.

11, enter: list disk Press Enter to execute the command, you can view the disk related information. At this point, you should pay attention to the size of the disk to determine and select. In the figure below, 465GB Disk 0 is the hard disk, and 3852MB Disk 1 is the USB disk for Win7 installation (don't choose the wrong one!).

12, input: select disk 0 Press Enter, select disk 0 for the currently operating disk.

13. Enter: Clean Press Enter to clear the current disk partition.

14. Input: convert mbr Press Enter to convert the hard disk boot mode to MBR partition. At this point, there is no problem with booting the exception when installing the Win7 operating system.

15. After the operation is completed, close the command prompt window and continue to install the Win7 system in the normal way.
