Win7 and xp dual system installation and uninstallation completely Raiders

        Whether you install Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista first, or Windows does not matter, the most important thing is the latter operation, now will introduce the method of installing dual systems.

First, the new installation of dual system

This is related to the startup dual system problem, will modify the Vista /Win7 Boot Manager, the Win XP boot information is added to the BCD file

In the case of installing xp and then installing Vista/Win7, the system will do these things automatically. Then we have to do some preparations for future system problems, as follows: 1, the boot file backup settings are completed and restarted after the use of dual systems, then now you have to do an important thing for file backup, Backup is very important. These files are hidden and must be opened with the folder option set. (1) The backup boot file is (the file is located in the disk where the current boot program is located (that is, the active primary partition), such as the C drive): Boot (folder); autoexec.bat; bootmgr.sys; config.sys; BOOTSECT .BAK;boot.ini;bootfont.bin;IO.SYS;MSDOS.SYS;
NTDETECT.COM; ntldr.sys

where Boot(folder); autoexec.bat;bootmgr.sys; Config.sys; BOOTSECT.BAK is the boot of Vista/Win7, and boot.ini; bootfont.bin; IO.SYS; MSDOS.SYS; NTDETECT.COM; ntldr.sys is the boot of Win XP. (2) Back up the BCD file: 1 Open “Run” (Start > Run), enter cmd 2 Enter bcdedit /export "X:\\XXX\\bcd" to restore the BCD file: 1 Open "Run" (Start > Run), enter cmd 2 Enter Bcdedit /import "X:\\XXX\\bcd" I backed up the BCD file to the "f:\\123\\" folder and restored it from the "f:\\123\\" folder. The BCD file is located in the "C:\\Boot\\" folder.

2. Reinstall the dual system (for some reason) But there is a problem, some people have to reinstall WinXP or Vista (Win7). There is no dual system boot menu after installation, there are two forms here.

First: Vista (Win7) is installed on the C drive, Vista does not move, reinstall Win XP.

Method: Since Win XP is reinstalled, the boot file of Win XP in the C drive does not move, then only the BCD file that was previously backed up can be restored. (Recommended)

Second: Vista (Win7) is installed on the C drive, Win XP does not move, reinstall Vista (Win7). Because Vista is installed on the C drive, after the installation, the boot files of Win XP in the C drive will disappear, then copy the Win XP boot file to the C drive. Then use the method of restoring the BCD file to restore the dual system boot menu. Note: This method must ensure that the boot files of WinXP and Vista in the C drive are not lost. It is recommended to back them up after the system is installed, preferably all backups.

Second, dual system changed to single system 1. Keep Vista (Win7), delete Win XP

1 Restore system defaults to Vista (Win7). Method: (1) Use the optical drive to load the Vista (Win7) CD (you can use the virtual CD-ROM drive), enter the boot folder and copy the bootsect.exe file, preferably copy it to other places,

such as F:\\123\\ (ie F directory 123)

(2) Open "Run" (Start > Run), enter cmd, or directly Win + R shortcut, and then enter cmd, anyway, you want to enter the command line mode (3) input Cd /d F:\\ (F is the drive letter where bootsect.exe is placed) (4) Enter cd 123\\ (123 is the path of bootsect.exe in F) (5) Enter bootsect /nt60 SYS (6) Restart, XP boot management The device has disappeared. 2 Delete the Win XP boot file on the C drive (the above is a description of Win XP boot files); 3 Format the disk where you installed Win XP.
2. Retain Win XP, delete Vista (win7) 1 Format the disk where you installed Vista (win7). 2 Use the system boot repair in the system CD to boot into the system (or PE system is also OK, in short, you must enter a tool PE system), after entering, copy the backup Win XP boot program to the "current boot program disk", I Here is the C drive. 3 Recovery system defaults to Win XP startup. Method: (1) Use the optical drive to load the Vista (win7) CD (you can use the virtual CD-ROM drive), enter the boot folder and copy the bootsect.exe file, preferably copy it to other places, such as F:\\123\\ (ie F disk 123 directory) Next) (2) Open “Run” (Start > Run), enter cmd, or directly Win+R shortcut, then enter cmd, anyway, you need to enter the command line mode (3) Enter cd /d F:\\ (F is just put bootsect (4) Enter the drive letter) (4) Enter cd 123\\ (123 is the path of bootsect.exe in F) (5) Enter bootsect /nt52 SYS (6) Restart, Vista (win7) boot manager has disappeared, the system will default to Win XP starts. Note: In this C drive is "the disk where the current boot program is located (active primary partition)". If you are unclear about the "current bootloader disk" you can directly type bootsect /nt60 or 52 ALL such as (bootsect /nt52 ALL ), this will automatically start from the active primary partition. To emphasize this point, keep Vista (Win7), Vista (Win7) all boot files without loss; keep Win XP, WinXP all boot files without loss.
