Windows 7 XP mode restricts the player to use

According to foreign media reports, Windows 7 Windows XP mode has certain restrictions on the Windows Media Player media player function.

Windows XP mode consists of a Windows Virtual PC virtual environment and a full Windows XP SP3 license that allows Windows 7 users to run older versions of Windows XP business software. Windows XP mode is available free of charge to Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate users through Microsoft's website. At the beginning of the release, Microsoft had revealed some limitations in the XP model. For example, XP mode does not support games.

Microsoft said: "When running Windows Media Player in Windows 7 Windows XP mode environment, users can't maximize or minimize the player window, users will see 'unexpected network error' The error message, the player will stop playing the content."

Microsoft explained that this problem is not caused by the vulnerability, "it is caused by functional design."

Considering the limitations of the Windows XP model, Microsoft will not fix this problem and users should fix it themselves.

Microsoft emphasizes: "We will not release fixes." Therefore, Windows 7 XP mode users should avoid running Windows Media Player media player. Otherwise, the most basic operation will cause the player to crash.
