Windows 7 Application Tutorial: History of the Start Menu

In the previous old version of WINXP, the list of commonly used programs was completely arranged from top to bottom according to the cumulative frequency of use. From the moment the new system or the last time the list of frequently used programs is cleared, the cumulative frequency of use of a program determines its location. A new program must be used a sufficient number of times (using the frequency to reach the lower limit of the current list of programs) to be able to kick off a program that is currently in the list of commonly used programs. Then, according to the increase in the frequency of use, the position is gradually increased. In this way, XP's list of commonly used programs is very stable, but it does not reflect changes in user hotspot programs in a timely manner.

WIN7 is very different. Generally speaking, in the 9 commonly used programs in the Win7 start menu, the top 3~4 programs (excluding the top-level programs such as IE and Windows Mail) are fixed, which seems to be determined according to the cumulative frequency of use; The following 4~5 programs change very quickly. A newly installed program, run once or twice, makes it possible to kick off an existing program and enter the list of frequently used programs. This is convenient for people with a wide work span and can quickly reflect changes in work hotspots. At the same time, the top 3 to 4 programs are also very good for programs that have been used frequently.

In Win7, we can also adjust the start menu history menu so that it does not display and other operations.

1. Right click on the start button of the start menu and click on the Properties option.

2. In the pop-up taskbar and the Start menu option in the Properties menu of the Start menu, we see a "Privacy" option below. There are two options inside, the default is to check the status, if we remove the check to confirm. When we open the Start menu again, we will find that the history has not been found.

Small Tips:

When the privacy check is removed, the history will no longer appear in the Start menu. If you want to continue displaying, you need to re-tick.
