How to install Microsoft Loopback NIC on Windows 7

The Microsoft Loopback Adapter is similar to a virtual NIC that can be installed on a Windows without a NIC or to test multiple hosting environments. I believe many ITPRo are quite familiar with this. However, the steps to manually install the device after using the Add Hardware Wizard on Widnows 7 as usual are as follows:

Does Widnows 7 no longer support the Loopback Adapter or Is there a way to manually add devices? In fact, we can manually add devices or drivers through the "hdwwiz.exe" command. To do this we need to perform the following steps:

1. Click the Start icon, type "hdwwiz" in the smart search, right click on the program in the search results, use "Run as administrator" The way to start.

2. According to the operating system wizard, select "Install my hardware selected manually from the list (Advanced)".

3. In the hardware list, select "Network Adapter".

4. Select the "Microsoft" vendor and select "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" in the list of network adapters on the right. Next, follow the wizard to complete the installation.
