HP will push Windows 8 tablet before the end of the year, main security and office

According to foreign media reports, HP CEO Meg · Meg Whitman said the company plans to ship a Windows 8 tablet by the end of the year. She is not worried about her own products competing with the iPad because she believes that future HP tablets will be very competitive. Whitman said, "The iPad is very good, I have one." I use it to read or watch TV, but don't need it to get the job done. Therefore, HP's Windows 8 tablet will be geared toward the workforce. She said the tablet is focused on security and office skills.

The industry believes that Whitman’s view of the iPad does not match the actual situation. The industry expects Apple to sell $19 billion worth of Macs and iPads to businesses in 2012. IDG Connect's survey found that 91% of professionals who buy iPads use it for work.

However, if Microsoft's next-generation Office can land on HP tablets, the latter's appeal will increase.

Work-type tablets are not unusual. Cisco has such products as Cius, but Cius is equipped with Android and is not sold to ordinary consumers.

Cius is more like a replacement for IP phones than a stand-alone work tool. It is usually bundled with a phone, Cisco video conferencing and collaboration software. It also allows companies to lock in, and employees can only download apps from the company's own app store.

If HP can launch a product that spans the iPad and Cius, and use all the management and security tools Microsoft provides to Windows, it will win.
