Microsoft's first financial officer, Peter Klein, gave a speech at Goldman Sachs' technology and networking conference. When talking about Windows 8, he said that Windows 8 is the key to Microsoft's cross-platform plan.

The Windows 8 Metro interface is part of Microsoft's cross-platform initiative, Klein said: "What we're trying to do is develop and deliver a complete seamless experience for all types of devices, including TV. Tablet, PC, mobile phone, etc. & rdquo; Windows 8 experience should be the same whether it is on x86 architecture or ARM platform.

Another way to connect different products is Skype, Klein pointed out: "Skype has been further expanded, whether it is combined with Lync or Xbox Live in the enterprise. It makes all the devices more closely linked together.
