Microsoft: Windows 8 features, version is still not fixed

Steven Sinofsky, president of Microsoft's Windows division, recently published a blog post saying that there are still too many places where Windows 8 needs to be developed. It will take a long time to determine whether the feature or version is divided, and he also revealed that it is the first. A public pre-release version will miss many traditional features such as media centers.

The boss of Windows said: "In the next few months, many people will test the pre-release version of Windows 8. Everyone knows that there are two things that can never be discussed too early. First of all, the software has not been completed, all changes are possible, and features will be added or removed. Second, different versions or SKUs will not be determined or announced until the end of the development cycle, which is close to the time of listing. & rdquo;

He promised that a broader Windows 8 test project will be launched later, which will give you at least a general impression of the final official version.

However, in the first compilations provided to testers, there are a number of features that are temporarily absent. & ldquo; The Media Center will not be part of the first pre-release version of Windows 8 (Windows 8). Other features that don't appear include: Windows 7 games, DVD burning, update settings, .NET Framework 3.5, and possibly some minor points. ”

Steven Sinofsky explained: "This is done for engineering and business." When we finally get closer to the market, we will guarantee that not only these, but all the features will be available to everyone. ”

He added: "I want to emphasize to you that the media center will definitely be part of Windows 8, and this is beyond doubt. While testers strongly support the Media Center, we still have a lot of work to do to ensure quality (media center) and extended compatibility, even in pre-release versions. ”
