Win8 Bitlocker driver encryption function: protect U disk data

We often face such a scene - our common U disk is lost, then we are worried that not the U disk can be used, but afraid that the important personal information we stored leaked out. So for this situation, Windows 8 gives the answer - using Bitlocker drive encryption.
What is Bitlocker Drive Encryption? It is a built-in system encryption method that uses a string of characters as credentials to ensure that your mobile storage facility can not reveal data in the event of a loss. In Win8, this feature has a better experience than the previous version, let us take a look at how to use Bitlocker driver encryption to encrypt our U disk.

First, we press Win logo key +W, enter the drive encryption in the pop-up search box, click on the search results, as shown below:

Click to pop up a new window, as shown below: Br>
G disk is the drive letter of our U disk to be encrypted, we click the submenu button on the right to open the following submenu:

Click to enable Bitlocker, pop up a new window, wait The initialization process ends:

After the initialization is complete, we will see the encryption mode selection window. Here we choose to use the password credentials to unlock the driver. Here we can enter the custom password for encryption:

After checking the password to unlock the drive and entering the customized password, we will see the backup settings for the recovery key:

Recovering the key is to ensure that we use a string when we lose the voucher (password or smart card) Character to unlock the encrypted drive. This recovery key can be saved in our Win8 Microsoft account and can be saved as a TXT file, which can be printed directly. It's worth noting that this is the way to save to a Microsoft account. Note that if you have a domain account, you don't have this option. After the item is selected, we can save it as a TXT file again, or print it directly. After the backup is completed, click Next.
Next, we choose whether to encrypt only the used parts or encrypt the whole disk. Here, Windows 8 has explained the two options very clearly. We choose one according to our own needs, and only the encrypted used part is The new features of Windows 8 can make the encryption process much faster:

After selecting the next step, the following window will pop up to confirm the encryption:

It is necessary to pay attention to the encryption process, if there is no click pause, Never remove or remove the drive, as it will damage the files in the drive. In order to ensure that the encryption is not cracked, it takes a long time to encrypt, so as the size of the encrypted portion is required, the encryption time will be lengthened to varying degrees, and it takes a while.
After the encryption is successful, we will see the following window:

Next we will unplug the drive and plug it in, view the drive, double-click the drive, we can see:

Here we can enter the password to unlock and use it correctly. If we forget the password, it doesn't matter. Click the More option, click Enter Recovery Key, and enter the key we backed up.

If we need to turn off Bitlocker, after unlocking the encrypted drive, we open the search (Win+W) input drive encryption, you can see the following, just click on the settings we need to make.
