Windows 8 system to remove the old application /clean up the application cache method

Delete the old version of the Win8 application

Win8 application installation directory in the system disk, the default path is C: Program FilesWindowsApps, WindowsApps folder even if it is an administrator The account does not have permission to access, you can add the current administrator to obtain permissions (this will reduce system security, in order to ensure the stability of Win8 application, do not make too many modifications after obtaining permissions).

1. Go to the C:Program Files directory and you will not find the WindowsApps folder. Since this directory is hidden, view the hidden files as follows: Ribbon menu view >> [Check] Hide Project

2. Get the permissions of this folder, this step is very important, please be sure to follow the steps.

(1) Right click on the WindowsApps folder - Properties - Security - Advanced

(2) Default by default in the owner will not display the current owner, click on the changes, add you Current account name, OK.

(Note: the account name to be entered is the name entered when the system is installed, the computer - right click - management - local users and groups - users - whether you see a name is your own Set it, that is! It is "name", not "all name" (recommended to see this article) or as shown below, click on the advanced - immediately view - can be found from below Set the username, if you are Microsoft ID login, it is Microsoft username + email address, select the one!)

(3) After the owner will appear your account name , check the replacement subcontainer and the owner of the object below, and then click OK below, the authorization process will take a while.

3. Once the authorization is complete, you can operate on the folder. Open the folder and you will find duplicate directories (if you have updated the application), but the later version numbers are different.

The next thing to do is to hold down Ctrl and select multiple times to delete the old version. If you can't tell the date of the change, it is recommended to put it in the recycle bin first, and then see if the application can open normally. Don't delete the mistake, otherwise you will uninstall the app and go to the app store to install it.

Another: 64-bit system some applications will appear x86 and x64 directories at the same time, you must keep not confused

and these folders are very important, don't just raise x86 I deleted it all, and I don’t know the consequences. You can try O(∩_∩)O.

At this point, the clean application of Win8 has come to an end, it is best not to make other changes~

Clean up the Win8 application cache

Win8 application cache directory and settings directory is saved in Under the user folder, the default path is C:Users[account name]AppDataLocalPackages, the system variable is %LocalAppData%Packages

The application cache is in the subdirectory AC folder of the directory corresponding to Win8 application, generally there are three Folders: INetINetCookies, INetCache and History, these three brothers are also to be cleaned up.

Remember: Packages and subdirectory files can't be deleted! ! ! Once you delete other files that are not cached, all applications will flash back. You can only re-create new accounts or reinstall the system!

I don't know if the system regularly cleans up the application cache, but every time it cleans up Can release a lot of space, especially after watching the video~

1. The cache folder is system protected. To check, you must uncheck the "Hide Protected Operating System Files" check box. The operation is as follows:

Ribbon Menu View >> Options >> View >> [Uncheck] Hide Protected Operating System Files & [Check] Show hidden files, then You can see the cache folder.

2. If all goes well, then you can view the cache folder in the AC subdirectory of the application directory.

3. Of course, for easy deletion, you can search for the Iet directly in the Packages directory, then Select all, delete it, this can be deleted without any scruples.

Deletion must be done first "to move to another place", don't worry about going to "permanently delete". Leave yourself behind the road.

Return WindowsApps Permissions

To return to the original permissions, Qing Feng does not know what permissions are in the beginning. With the help of the friend Pianaiw, I finally found a way. Express thankfulness. Now provide the program to everyone, if you have any questions, please indicate it immediately, thank you!

1. Enter the advanced interface of the security option, click on the owner to change, enter NT SERVICETrustedInstaller, you can add the TrustedInstaller account.

(Note: Win8e.com's 800 million net authors reported the first error when returning the permissions today, so they re-operated the operation of returning the permissions, and then succeeded. In order to verify, the operation was repeated again. Finally, I was relieved, because many of my classmates were very recklessly moving this permission and causing the store to hang up. I had to re-install it with sad reminders. Therefore, everyone must pay attention to the operation. It is also very important to delete the file. Don’t delete it permanently. .)

2. Then check the owner of the replacement subcontainer and object below, and delete the current account, then click OK, the folder will be reauthorized, and the authorization will return to the default permissions.

(Note: In this step, you can click to select the management user you just added and click Output, then check the Replace Subcontainer and finally confirm.)

3. Ok, Win8 application folder is blocked again~

Basically using Win8 for a period of time, after the above processing, your system disk will release hundreds of megabytes of space, if there are a large number of applications and frequently used, you can release a few G! So Win8 application is very space-consuming!
