Solutions to problems with Win8 applications:

Updating applications

Keeping apps up-to-date is one way to get things working. As long as your app has an updated version, you can see the notification in the app store.

To update the app, you can click or click the notification or follow these steps:

1. On the "Start” screen, tap or click “app store ”Opens the Windows Store.

2. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and click “Set”. (If you are using a mouse, point to the top right corner of the screen, then move the pointer down and click “Set”.)

3. Click or click "Apply Updates”. If you are not already logged in to the Windows Store, sign in with your Microsoft account.

4. Click or click “Check for updates”.

5. If there is an update, swipe down or right-click on the desired app update, then tap or click “Install”.

Synchronizing application licenses

If your app's license cannot be synced with an app installed on your computer, the app may stop working.

To sync your app license, please follow these steps:

1. On the "Start" screen, tap or click “app store” to open the Windows app store.

2. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and click “Set”. (If you are using a mouse, point to the top right corner of the screen, then move the pointer down and click “Set”.)

3. Click or click "Apply Updates”. If you are not already logged in to the Windows Store, sign in with your Microsoft account.

4. Click or click "Sync License”.

Reinstalling the application

If your app is up to date and your licenses are synced, you can reinstall the app to try to resolve the issue.

To reinstall the app, follow these steps:

1. On the "Start" screen, swipe down or right click on the app you want to uninstall, click or single Click "Uninstall" and then click or click "Uninstall".

2. Click or click “App Store” to open the Windows Store.

3. Swipe down from the top edge of the screen and click “your app”. (If using a mouse, point to the top of the screen, right click, then click “your application 

4.Click or click the app you want to install, then tap or click“ Uninstall & rdquo;.

Contact the app publisher

If the app still has issues, contact the app publisher for assistance using the support information listed on the app's description page.

To view the publisher's app support information, follow these steps:

1. On the "Start” screen, tap or click “app store” Open the Windows Store.

2. Search or browse the app and tap or click on it.

3. Click or click “Overview", then click or click “Learn more" This link will open an email for you to contact support or take you to the support site.

Note

In some cases, an app may be removed from the Windows Store due to a violation of the Terms of Use. When this happens, you'll receive an email letting you know that the app is no longer available in the app store and that the app will no longer work on your computer.

Microsoft does not provide technical support for applications created by other developers. You must contact the developer for technical support.
