Detailed explanation of the functions of the windows directory folder

  

The so-called system directory refers to the directory where the main files of the operating system are stored. The files in the directory directly affect whether the system works normally. Understand the functions of these directories, I believe it is better for you. Using the system can be very helpful. Unless otherwise specified, the directories described below are in the Win 98/ME system, they are in the Windows directory, under the Win 2000 system, they are in the Win NT directory.

All Users folder:

Win 98/ME all user folders, which include the contents of the desktop file and the start menu when the system is logged in by default.

Win 2000 does not have this folder in the Win 2000 system directory. Win 2000 puts the user's information in the Documents and Settings folder in the root directory. Each user corresponds to a directory, including the start menu. Desktop, favorites, my documents, and more.

Application Data Folder:

Win 98/ME Application Data Folder. Includes shortcuts in the taskbar, some files for input methods, and more. The contents of this directory vary depending on the software used in your system.

Win 2000 In the Documents and Settings folder, each user corresponds to an Application Data folder. Similarly, each user has the same directory content because of the different software used.

Applog folder:

Win 98/ME application logical file directory. A logical file is a file used to record information such as files, addresses used, etc. that the application software needs to call at runtime. To view these files, open them with Notepad.

Catroot folder:

The Win 98 computer starts the test information directory. The files included in the directory are mostly about the hardware and software information detected when the computer starts.

Win ME This folder is located in the system directory of the system directory.

Win 2000 This folder is located in the system32 directory of the system directory.

Command Folder:

Win 98/ME DOS Command Directory. Including a lot of external commands under DOS, although they are small tools, but really good, especially when the system crashes.

Config folder:
