Windows2003 installed dual hard drive can not recognize the fault

The author's computer was originally installed with a 10GB hard drive, because the upgrade changed a 40GB hard drive, 10GB hard drive is placed in the drawer "rest". Later, there were so many things in the new hard disk that it was considered to use the old hard disk to transfer some movies and songs.
So the old hard disk and the optical drive are connected to the second IDE data line, so that the main hard disk enjoys the first IDE data line. When the hard disk is connected to the motherboard and booted, first enter the BIOS to search for the hard disk, and the prompt can find the dual hard disk, indicating that the working condition is good. Directly enter Windows Server 2003, after logging in, the system first prompts to find new hardware, and the hard disk turns for a while to complete the installation. I like to open it “My computer”, I am looking for a dual hard drive letter, but the system only finds several partitions of the main hard disk. , did not find a small-capacity hard disk partition, restarted several times still.
Just click “Start”, point to “Set", and then click “Control Panel”. Double-click "Administrative Tools", and then double-click "Computer Management" to bring up the disk management to view it. In Disk Management, you can see several partitions of the second hard disk. Is the partition format wrong?
First format the second hard disk, after processing it, shut down and restart, the situation remains. I had to enter the disk management view again, only to find that there is no disk symbol after the drive icon of the second hard disk partition, and the system does not automatically specify it. Is this caused by this reason? Right-click on the hard disk partition without a drive letter and select “Change drive letter and path" to specify a new drive letter. Turning on my computer again, the partition of the small-capacity hard drive finally appeared.
