Windows Server 2008 Remote Desktop Management Implementation Tutorial

  

In the LAN working environment, network administrators often manage remotely through remote desktops in order to manage the server system. Windows Server 2008 servers can also be managed using remote desktops. However, the security features of Windows Server 2008 system have been enhanced than before, which makes the remote management settings more troublesome. Excluding network discovery levels

Windows Server 2008 has a new network discovery feature compared to regular server systems. Once this feature is not enabled, then any Users cannot access Windows Server 2008 systems through remote desktop. In order to smoothly manage the Windows Server 2008 server system remotely, we need to enable the network discovery function of the corresponding system. The following are the specific steps to enable the network discovery function:

First open the Windows Server 2008 system desktop. Start & rdquo; menu, click one by one to click the "Settings" button, in the pop-up system control panel window, double-click the Network and Sharing Center icon to open the Network and Sharing Center management window; >

Troubleshooting Firewall Limits

Windows Server 2008 has a significant enhancement in its own firewall, and the enhanced firewall program is by default. The remote desktop connection will be restricted. If you do not cancel this restriction, we can't remotely manage the Windows Server 2008 server system. When troubleshooting the firewall limit level, we can follow the steps below:

First click the “Start”,“Set>,“Control Panel” command in the Windows Server 2008 system desktop, open the corresponding system's control panel window, double-click the Windows Firewall icon, followed by the left side of the interface display area, click the & ldquo; enable or disable Windows firewall & rdquo; link to open the local Windows server system basic configuration window;

click Next In the "Basic" tab of the basic configuration window, open the option settings page shown in Figure 2, check the "ld"; Whether the Remote Desktop option is selected, once it is found that this option has not been selected, it means that the Windows Server 2008 system comes with a firewall to limit the remote desktop connection; in order to cancel this restriction, we must select here “ Remote Desktop & rdquo; option, click the "OK" button to save the above settings, so that any user remotely connected to the server system will not be blocked by the firewall.

Of course, in order to remotely manage Windows Server 2008 system, we also need to set the group policy parameters of the corresponding system, so that the system has its own firewall to allow users to inbound remote management; In operation, we can first click the "start",","run" command, and execute the “gpedit.msc” command in the pop-up system run text box to open the group policy editing window of the corresponding system; In the left sub-pane of the window, expand the "Computer Configuration", "Administrative Templates", "Network", "Network Connections", "Windows Firewall" group policy sub-item, There are two options under the target sub-item.
