How to change the default installation location of the Win8 system Metro App Store app

Microsoft added App Store for Windows
8, which allows users to install the required apps through the app store. However, these applications are installed by default into the partition where the system is located. For users who are not properly partitioned, there is not enough space to install more applications. If you want to modify the default installation location of the application in the Windows
8 app store, you can modify it by following the steps below.

Operation Steps

The default installation location of the application in Windows8 App Store is "C:\\Program Files\\WindowsApps”, this folder is a hidden item, you must open the Show hidden items function to see Go to the folder. Double click on the folder and you will see the following prompt.

Click Continue to get permission for this folder, and you will be able to view the folders of all installed apps when you are done. Use the shortcut key Win+Q to open the search function of the charm toolbar, and type regedit to search.

Click on the searched regedit.exe to open the system registry and navigate to the location "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Appx” at this point we can see The default installation location information to the app.

Right-click Appx on the left and select Permissions.

In the open permission setting interface, click the advanced setting option in the above figure, in the advanced security settings interface, select the subject named TrustedInstaller in the permission entry, and then click on the right side of the owner. Changes.

Enter the username in the name of the object you want to select, then click on the check name on the right.

The username is automatically displayed.

Click OK to return to the Advanced Security Settings screen and you will see that the owner has become your modified username.

Click Apply and OK, then go back to the Permissions Settings screen and check the Full Control permissions for the Administrators user group (as shown below).

Then return to the registry to modify the default installation location. After this modification, the apps in the Windows 8 app store will be installed to the location you specified.
