Using the Slmgr command to protect the security of Win7 system product keys

No matter whether it is a business or an individual, you do not want your copyright rights to be violated. Especially after the large-scale deployment of Windows
7 in the enterprise, some employees may use some tools to extract the product key of the current Windows
7 system, resulting in the loss of enterprise IT assets. It is more likely to cause an attack caused by a key leak. So how can an individual user or enterprise IT Pro effectively prevent such problems from happening?

Operating steps

1, remember the Windows authorization management tool --lmgr.vbs? Use this tool to help users prevent product key leaks. Run CMD as an administrator and execute “slmgr.vbs /?” (Note: the actual operation can omit the extension .vbs), you can get the parameter description of slmgr, click the “OK” button to display the next Description of the parameters of the page.

2, on the second page we can see the “/cpky” parameter, as explained in the description, use this parameter to clear the product key from the registry. This can effectively prevent malicious users from using the serial number viewer or script program that is streamed online to snoop the Windows 7 product key, thus avoiding the leakage of the product key.

Tip

Execute“slmgr /cpky” The command must be an administrator, otherwise an error will be prompted.
