Win10 PC/Mobile Preview Edition 15007 Startup Video Review

Microsoft recently pushed Windows 10 Mobile/PC Creator Update Preview Edition 15007, bringing a number of new features, now the external media On MSFT brought us this version Get started with the video. Let's take a look at the details below!

Win10 Preview Edition 15007 brings new features: Microsoft Edge improvements, system themes, Cortana assisted cross-device synchronization, and improved Windows Hello. In addition, the mobile version has several new features, including:

Using Azure Active Directory (AAD) identity (mobile) sync settings: You can now use enterprise state roaming to sync your settings on AA-joined phones . After enabling enterprise state roaming for your phone, you can sync settings on your desktop and mobile devices, such as passwords, Wi-Fi profiles, Edge favorites, Edge reading lists, and app data. To get the most out of this feature, make sure sync is enabled for the same account under Settings > Accounts > Sync settings on mobile and desktop.

App Reset (Mobile): One of the features added to the PC by the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is the ability to reset the app to its original state. We are pleased to announce that starting with Build 15007, this feature is now available in the mobile version! If your UWP app is in a bad state, open Settings > System > Storage and navigate to the app. In the app's advanced settings, you'll see the “Reset” option. Clicking on it will clear the application's cache and reset the app as if it were just installed (actually not having to reinstall).

Cortana Love Music (Mobile): Now you can use Cortana to control the music playback on more of your favorite music apps (EN-US only). Starting with this release, we have enabled natural language compatibility for iHeartRadio and TuneIn Radio. When you listen to music in one of the apps, you can also use voice to control playback and volume. For radio stations, we often want to know what a fascinating tune has played a million times, so we added support for “what is playing. Try saying "嘿Cortana, what is playing", it will work for all apps to play music.

Adding music recognition support to Chinese (Simplified) (Mobile): Cortana can now recognize Chinese customers' music. Just click on the music note icon at the top corner of the Cortana homepage and Cortana will hear any music that is playing and use Netease to tell you what song it is. This is exactly like the English (US) feature.

Cortana uses Azure Active Directory (AAD) identity (mobile) login: This feature will allow you to log in to Cortana using your work or school account instead of your Microsoft account, even if your organization does not support Microsoft For accounts, you can also use Cortana. To log in to Cortana using your work or school account, simply visit Cortana's notebook and “About me” and log in. You'll get the full Cortana experience and support most of the same features.

Cortana reminds (mobile) more repeat options: We listened to your feedback and we added a new option to set the periodicity for “monthly” or “yearly” Time-based Cortana reminder, perfect for billing.

Web Payments (Mobile): Microsoft Edge has now previewed support for the new Payment Request API, allowing websites to make checkouts more easily using the payment and shipping preferences stored in your Microsoft Wallet. This feature is currently in the developer's preview state and will not process payment information until a future release. You can find out more about payment requests on the Microsoft Edge Dev blog.

Improve the readability of UWP applications in high contrast (mobile): In order to solve some of the most common high contrast problems encountered in UWP applications, we updated the XAML framework and now display opacity behind the text. Layer, forced semi-transparent UI is completely opaque. These adjustments apply by default to high contrast and apply to all XAML store apps, but apps will have the opportunity to opt out of using the Windows 10 Creator Update SDK. The updated details will be available after the latest SDK is released.

Helps you find the settings you need in Settings (Mobile): One of our goals is to make settings easier and navigate faster, and we made some design adjustments based on feedback.

The settings page now contains additional information on the right or bottom (depending on the size of the window), providing links to support, feedback, and any other related settings, if any. Since our list of system settings has become very long, we have moved the app-related settings in the system to a new category called Apps.

Updated Device Settings (Mobile): The new device setup experience includes Bluetooth and Connected Devices pages to provide a location to manage devices/peripherals. We also listened to your feedback and added the ability to disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth audio devices directly from this "Settings" page and update the process for adding new device connections.

New options for pausing updates: We've added an option that allows you to pause for up to 35 days on your phone. To pause your phone update, go to Settings > Update & Security > Phone Updates and click Advanced. This feature will be available on enterprise management devices on Windows 10 Mobile.
