Win7 printer sharing permissions can not access winXP shared printer how to do?

  

Units have installed a printer on a XP machine and set up sharing. Now you need to share a printer on XP with a printer installed on Win7 to print the file. After setting up the shared printer and turning on the GUEST user, Win7 will prompt you when accessing the printer. If you don't have permission, please contact the network administrator. After checking the data and setting it many times, it will finally be solved successfully.

1. WinXP Machine Settings

1, Open Guest User

(1)Start--Control Panel--User Account;

(2) Set the Guest guest account to [Enable].

2, check the working group and IP address settings

(1)Workgroup: Right-click [My Computer]--[Properties]--[System Properties]-- [Computer name], check the working group (need to be in the same working group as the Win7 machine);

(2) Check the machine IP address setting, you need to set the XP machine and WIN7 machine to the same network segment.


3. Check and start the service

(1) Start--Run, enter services.msc, start the [Services] program;

( 2) Select [Automatic] for the following service [Startup Type] and ensure that [Service Status] is [Enabled]:

Computer Browser

DHCP Client

DNS Client

Print Spooler

Remote Procedure Call

Server

SSDP Discovery

Workstation

(3)Complete Restart the machine afterwards.


4. Set up printer sharing

(1) Start--Control Panel--Printer and Fax, Select Printer, Right-Share-

(2) Select “Share this printer” and remember the share name.


5, add protocol and group policy settings (if there is no permission to access XP machine after Win7 settings below, please do the following)

(1) Right click [ Network Neighborhood]--[Local Connection Properties]--[Installation]--[Agreement];

(2)Select “NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol”, installation;

(3) Select “Network Monitor Driver”,install;

(4)Win key+R, open [Run], input: secpol.msc, open [Local Security Settings]--[Local Strategy]--[User Rights Assignment], <;Reject access to this computer from the network” attribute delete all users inside;

(5)Open [Local Security Settings]--[Local Policies] -- [Security Policy], disable “ do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts & rdquo;, disable “ do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares & rdquo;;

(6) restart the machine , complete the setup.



Second, Win7 machine settings

1, turn on Guest user

(1) Right click on the desktop “computer” icon , select “Manage”;

(2) Open the “Computer Management” window, select “Local Users and Groups” and “Users”, double click on the right side “Guest” User, open the Guest property box and remove the checkbox in the box below.


2. Check and turn on some services

(1) Right click on "Computer”--&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&" ;, open the service; or use the Win key + R to open the run - enter services.msc, open the service settings.

(2) Select [Startup Type] of the following services as [Auto] and ensure that [Service Status] is [Enabled]:

Computer Browser

DHCP Client

DNS Client

Function Discovery Resource Publication

Print Spooler

Remote Procedure Call

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator< Br>

Server

SSDP Discovery

TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper

UPnP Device Host

Workstation


3. Check and modify two computers to the same workgroup

(1) Right click on the “& computer” icon on the desktop and select “Attributes”;

(2) Check or modify two computers to the same workgroup.

4. Turn on network sharing and file sharing

(1)Enable network discovery;

(2)Enable file and printer sharing;

(3) Turn off password protection sharing.




5, Windows Firewall Settings

(1)Open “Control Panel--System and Security--Windows Firewall”;< Br>

(2) Click “Allow programs or features to pass Windows Firewall”;

(3) to allow access to “Network Discovery” and “File and Printer Sharing”.


6. Set Group Policy

(1)Win key+R, start running, enter gpedit.msc, enter;

(2 Open [Local Group Policy Editor]--[Computer Configuration]--[Windows Settings]--[Security Settings]--[Local Policies]--[Security Options], [Network Access: Sharing of Local Accounts and Security model], set to [Classic - authenticate the local user without changing its original identity];

(3) Switch the above location from [Security Options] to [User Rights Assignment], check and Modify the right side "Access this computer from the network", "Reject local login", "Reject access to this computer from the network" related settings.


7, restart the machine after completing the settings, try to connect XP shared printer

(1) Start--devices and printers--add printer--add network, Wireless or Bluetooth printer;

(2) Search for the printer. If the settings are correct, you should be able to find the shared printer under XP.

(3)If you don't want to wait for Windows automatic search, you can Click below “stop”, select “I need a printer not in the list", manually select;

(4)Use “Browse Printer” or“Select Shared Printer by Name&rdquo (If you choose by name, you need to fill in the XP machine name + printer name or XP machine IP address + printer name), this article should be written as: \\\\PC-201412240947\\RICONSP2 or \\\\10.160. 94.7\\RICONSP2)

(5) Complete the installation of the shared printer driver.



Note:

After opening the Guest account, restart the computer, Win7 may stay in the login state, you need to manually select the user account to enter the system. (Although neither the Administrator nor the Guest account has a password set). This will cause some trouble for some users. You can set the Administrator to be automatically logged in by setting, without the user having to manually select it.

(1) Use Win key + R to start "Run", enter: control userpasswords2, enter, enter "user account" setting; To use this unit, the user must enter the username and password before the check box to remove it.
