The most complete way to prevent Win7/Win8.1 from automatically downloading Win10 installation package in history is

  

In order to make Win7/Win8.1 users upgrade Win10 more conveniently, Microsoft deliberately pushes Windows10 official version installation package to these users. However, this method also causes dissatisfaction of some users, because this may affect the user's normal online experience and consume user traffic.

If you don't want to upgrade Win10 now, you don't have to endure the effects of automatic download and installation. There are two ways to prevent update downloads.

Method 1: Uninstall "Get Windows10" KB3035583 update patch

This patch is the automatic download of Win10 installation package "Culprit", you can update Windows on Windows7/Windows 8.1 “Installed update” found it. Since the update level is "Important", after uninstalling, the system may search for the update again and prompt for installation. At this point you should uncheck the installation and hide the update.


Method 2: Delete the update file

Open the Start menu, search for <;Programs and Features, go to the Control Panel> Programs and Features page, at Click on the left side to view the installed updates

The corresponding update files for Windows 7 users are: KB3035583, KB2952664, KB3021917

The corresponding update files for Windows 8 users are: KB3035583, KB2976978

Right-click on these files and select “Uninstall, choose to restart later when prompted, and restart when all corresponding updates have been uninstalled.

Second step, make sure you don't try to download the Windows 10 update file afterwards, open the Start menu, “Windows Update, select “Check for updates and you will see the list of updated files,

Click on “Available important updates, you will see several files deleted before, right click “Hide updates.

You're done, Windows 10 update files will no longer encroach on your hard drive space.

Method 3: Use Microsoft KB3065987/KB3065988 update to block Win10 installation package download

The specific operation is as follows:

1, press Win+R, enter regedit in the run and return Car, open the registry editor, as shown below ——

2, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows\\WindowsUpdate

Note: If there is no WindowsUpdate item, you can manually click the right button in the blank space on the right side after clicking the Windows directory in the above figure.

3. Click WindowsUpdate, right click on the right margin, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value, name it DisableOSUpgrade, as shown below ——

4, double-click to open DisableOSUpgrade Change the value data to 1, click “OK”, as shown below ——

At this point you can restart your computer to ensure that the changes take effect quickly. If you want to restore Win10 downloads, you can remove DisableOSUpgrade directly.
