What is the System Volume Information folder under Windows?

In each hard disk partition there will be a folder called “System Volume Information”, which is not accessible to general users. It literally means to store system information, but what is stored?

According to Raymond's explanation, it stores the following information:

1. System restored data. The system restored data can be deleted in the control panel. 2. Distribution link tracking service data for a link to fix shortcuts and documents. 3. The data of the file indexing service is used to quickly find files. 4. Volume shadow service, mainly used for backup of system files. 5. The Vista system also uses it to save the WinFS database.

If the above data is not useful to you, you can disable the above services to reduce the size of the System Volume Information folder.
