Win10 technology preview test user attention: do not want to change the bricks, please update the system

All users participating in the Windows 10 Technology Preview test should be aware that it is important to keep the system version up-to-date, otherwise you may face a situation where the PC becomes brickless.

Microsoft today posted an important announcement on its technical support forum to remind users to update the system. There are several versions of the Microsoft Windows 10 Technology Preview, and the first three versions released in 2014 are Build 984, 9860, and 9879. The announcement said that these three early versions will be banned from starting at the end of April.

Improve Windows 10 test quality

In fact, users who are using the three version numbers of the Windows 10 Preview system have received warnings that the system is about to expire in the past two weeks. Starting on Wednesday, the computer will automatically restart every 3 hours, and after rebooting, you will receive a prompt to request an update.

“After the license expires for about 2 weeks, the old build version will not boot at all. ” Microsoft engineers announced on April 10 that the measure will be implemented from April 30.

Obviously, Microsoft's drastic measures have a very important purpose: to ensure that all users participating in the test conduct more effective testing, rather than wasting time on bug fixes or old versions. Apple did not adopt this strategy when it offered the OS X public test in 2014, but the test time provided by Apple has not been long, and Microsoft's every generation of Windows operating system provides testing to official release for a year.

In addition to the three versions of Build 984, 9860 and 9879 released last year, the other three versions released this year are Build 9926, 10041 and 10049. Among them, 9926 was pushed in January, and 10041 and 10049 were pushed in February and March respectively. The latest one is 10049 pushed on March 30.

All Build versions end in October

Microsoft technical support engineers said that the Windows technology preview Bulid 9926, 10041 and 10049 will be officially banned from launch on October 15, 2015. The window warning will begin on September 17, and the automatic restart every 3 hours will be implemented from October 1.

For those who don't see warnings and watch their computers restart frequently. Microsoft believes that you should quickly complete all the upgrades in Windows Update, and recommend that users who have been unable to start, download the latest iso image file to repair or reinstall the computer.

“If you really can't start Windows 10 because the license expires, you have to download the ISO image from another computer, and then through the installation media, such as a USB flash drive or a DVD disc. The brick version of the PC is installed with the latest version of the technology preview. ” Microsoft stressed.

Microsoft has said: "Windows 10 will officially debut this summer. ” I believe many Windows users have learned that Windows 10 will provide upgrade benefits, all Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 computers can be upgraded to Windows 10 for free within 1 year.
