Method for deleting invalid icons in Windows notification area

When we run some programs, it will automatically display icons in the taskbar notification area, which means the program is executing, although you can customize whether these program icons are displayed. However, whether it is a program that is currently used or a program that has been uninstalled, it will be recorded as long as it has been in the notification area. So how can we completely delete these invalid program icons? Today, Xiaobian shares with you how to clear the invalid icons in the Windows notification area. I hope everyone likes it.

1. Right-click on the "win” icon to select “Run” or directly press [win+R] to go directly to the “Run” dialog and enter the “Regedit” command.

2, enter the "Registry Editor", here we open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Classes\\Local Settings\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\TrayNotify directory from the left column

3, then in the right column we find the "IconStreams" and "PastIconsStream" values.

4. After deleting these two items, exit the registry editor after refreshing. To ensure the stability of the system after deletion, we will back up the files before deleting them.

5. Click on the "TrayNotify” directory in the left column and select Export TrayNotify.reg.

6, then just restart "Windows Explorer", right click on the taskbar or [ctrl+alt+del] to open the task manager, find the explorer process and end the process.

7. Click on the <quo;File”--&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&" Manager”. Go back and see if the invalid icon in your Windows notification area disappears.
