Win10 conference highlight analysis: intelligent switching between PC and tablet

According to the CNET website, Microsoft will hold a Windows 10 conference on Wednesday (US time). Since this system may not be able to really meet consumers in the second half of this year, this conference will be an excellent time for us to understand the new features of this future operating system. Here are a few things that deserve our attention at this Windows 10 conference:

1) Release date and price

Windows 10 is expected to be released this fall, but The specific release date depends on the development process. The price is even more important. Last year, Apple opened the OS X Yoseite system to all Mac users for free, and now it has thrown the problem to Microsoft. The CNET website believes that Microsoft may not learn Apple. Apple has the strength to open its operating system to Mac users for free. Windows users have a lot of autonomy to decide whether to install this new system, and for businesses, they may also update a large number of existing PC systems. However, a competitive price means that there may be a “gap” because users can choose to abandon the Windows 8 system, switch to the new system, or delay the system update.

2) Continuum Mode

Continuum is a new feature worthy of attention in Windows 10 systems. This feature is specifically designed for mixed form devices. With Continuum, the operating system is able to intelligently switch between PC and tablet. This means that you can get a PC experience on the Surface Pro 3 with a keyboard. However, once you remove the keyboard, it will return to Windows tablet mode, which includes a transition to the full-size screen Start menu.

3) Consumer Preview Release Date

Windows 10 Consumer Preview is the key to convince users that this system is worth their time-consuming and costly purchase. It is basically Windows 10 beta. However, the consumer preview version will certainly have fewer vulnerabilities than the Windows 10 Technology Preview, which was released last fall.

4)"Spartan" Browser

IE browsers have always been Windows-bound browsers. Microsoft hopes to change that. It is reported that the Spartan browser will be paired with Microsoft Voice Assistant Cortana, which supports the browser extension package, similar to Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

5) Windows Phone 10

Windows 10 should support cross-platform operation, including desktops, tablets, PCs, and smartphones. Application software should also be cross-platform. However, at the moment we have not seen much of the software interface for the mobile version of Windows 10.

Windows applications will "avoid" a lot of applications running on different platforms, resulting in "confusing", perhaps iOS users are more familiar with this issue. Universal Windows applications already exist, such as Windows 8 users who have purchased the "Aura Spartan Raid" game, can also play on Windows Phone 8 devices.

If Windows 10 supports cross-platform, it would be good news for users who hate using different versions of the application on different devices. As a smartphone platform, Windows Phone has not gained too high penetration since its release, and the unified PC and mobile experience is exactly what the Windows Phone platform needs.
