Win7 creates strong passwords to improve password security.

Password security has always been the most worrying thing for users. How to make your computer more secure is what many users want to know. Today Xiaobian will introduce you to a way to improve password security.

A password is a string used to access information or a computer. To enhance security, passphrases are usually longer than passwords and contain multiple words for creating phrases. Passwords and passphrases help prevent unauthorized access to files, programs, and other resources. When you create a password or passphrase, you should make it more robust so that others can hardly guess or crack. It is best to use strong passwords for all user accounts on your computer.

What constitutes a strong password or a strong password phrase?

Strong passwords and passphrases contain each of the following four types of characters:

A password or passphrase may satisfy all of the above conditions, but is still a weak password. Or passphrase. For example, Hello2U! All the conditions for the strong password listed above are met, but since it contains the complete word, it is still a weak password. H3ll0 2 U! Is a stronger alternative password because it replaces some of the letters in the complete word with numbers and also contains spaces.

Help you remember strong passwords or passphrases by following these tips:

•Create acronyms based on easy-to-remember information. For example, choose a phrase that makes sense to you, such as My son‘s birthday is 12 December, 2004. Guided by this phrase, Msbi12/Dec, 4 can be used as the password.

• Replace letters or words in phrases that are easy to remember with numbers, symbols, and letters that are misspelled. For example, My son&squo;s birthday is 12 December, 2004 can become Mi$un‘s Brthd8iz 12124 (this constitutes a strong passphrase).

•Link a password or passphrase with a hobby or favorite sport. For example, I love to play badminton can become ILuv2PlayB@dm1nt()n.

If you think you have to write down a password or passphrase to remember it, make sure you don't mark it as a password and keep it in a safe place.

Creating stronger passwords and passphrases using ASCII characters

Windows passwords can be much longer than the eight characters suggested above. In fact, passwords can be up to 127 characters in length. However, if you are on a network with a computer running Windows 95 or Windows 98, consider using a password that is no longer than 14 characters. If the password is longer than 14 characters, you may not be able to log in to the network from a computer running these operating systems.

After setting a strong password on your computer, you can make your computer more secure and protect your interests. So users who haven't set a strong password yet, go and set one.
