There is no system restore or automatic recovery option in Win8 advanced startup.

Previously, I tried to enter the advanced startup interface of Win8 system. I found that only the UEFI firmware settings and startup settings are left in the advanced options. Others such as System restore, automatic recovery and other options are gone. What should I do?

This happens because of a bug or loss in the Win8 system's Recovery boot file.

Solution

The first step is to run the command prompt as an administrator. Enter Reagentc /enable and press Enter. If there is no error, the WinRE file is not lost.

The second step, then execute the bcdedit /enum all command, try to restore the restore advanced boot menu, then restart the computer, then enter the advanced boot ("How to manually enter the Win8 system's advanced startup items"), menu Whether it is back to normal.

If the first step of the error message indicates that the WinRE file is missing, it is estimated that it can only be solved by repairing or reinstalling the system.

For most ordinary users, advanced startup is not a common feature, so you don't have to care too much. But for technology enthusiasts, it may be indispensable.
