How does the win7 system add space to the c drive?

We installed WIN7 system for a period of time, with our constant installation procedures, etc., we will find that the space of C disk is getting smaller and smaller, it is not enough. At this time we want to add some space to C disk. Capacity, then how does the win7 system add space to the c drive? Of course, other software can definitely be used, but today Xiaobian tells everyone how to expand the WIN7 system C disk without any other software, I hope to help friends! Of course, before proceeding, Xiaobian reminds everyone to make important backups of the computer's important data in other places!

windows7 Operating System

Methods/Steps

We right click on the desktop computer icon and select management!

In the computer management window, we click on the disk management in the store to open!

After opening the disk management, we found that the small computer has a total of 3 partitions, of which the C drive is the main partition, which is our system disk. There are two D disks and E disks in the extended partition. Logical partition!

If we increase the space of the C drive now, we can't see it! We right clicked the right mouse button on the C drive, and everyone found that the extended volume in the menu is gray and unavailable, which means that the space of the C drive cannot be expanded now!

Why is the extended volume grayed out? Xiaobian here, the expansion space can only be extended from adjacent partitions, but can not be separated by a disk, and the extended partition must be the same as the adjacent partition [partition type], our C drive is the main Partition, and the adjacent D drive is a logical partition, so now the C drive can not expand the space, we want to expand the space of the C drive a lot of methods, for example, we can use other software to change the D drive to the main partition, today Xiaobian does not have to Other software, let's take a look at the method used by Xiaobian! We can delete the logical partition, we right click on the E disk and select delete volume! Then in the pop-up menu, we are sure to delete!

We use the same method to delete the logical disk D disk!

Today we have deleted the D disk and E disk logical disk, but now it is not possible to expand the C disk, we continue to right click on the available space, and then delete the partition!

This way the extended partition we deleted becomes unallocated space!

We now right click on the C drive, and we found that the extended volume is ready for use. We are now adding space to the C drive. We choose to expand the volume!

Then we use the extended volume wizard to add space to the C drive,

We now find that our C drive has been added 10G without loss. space!

So what about the remaining unallocated space? You can refer to another experience in Xiaobian for partitioning http://www.jb51.net/os/windows/241727.html

Notes

Using the method of this article, the data of the extended partition such as D disk and E disk will be deleted!

Of course, I still want to remind everyone to do a backup of important data during operation! You can put important data in a USB flash drive and other places!

The above is how the win7 system adds space to the c drive, I hope to help everyone, thank you for reading!
