Windows XP users face a new 0day vulnerability attack

Computer store news: A new Windows kernel 0day vulnerability is being used to attack Windows XP users. Microsoft has confirmed the vulnerability and issued a security warning. The local privilege vulnerability was combined with an Adobe Reader vulnerability to invade Windows XP machines. The vulnerable versions of Adobe Reader include 9.5.4, 10.1.6, and 11.0.02.

This privilege vulnerability allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code in kernel mode, including installing malicious programs, browsing, modifying, or deleting data, creating an account with full administrative privileges. Security companies recommend that Windows XP users upgrade their Adobe Reader to the latest version and upgrade to a newer operating system.
