Windows 8's "In-App Advertising" platform has had a very small effect.

Computer Store News: Microsoft has been marketing its in-app advertising program to developers of Windows 8 applications for some time. For these software developers, they have a more revenue-generating way to keep the software free. However, in the past few weeks, the revenue that developers have gained from in-app advertising seems to have fallen to almost zero. Comments from these developers on the Bing Ads message board said that in April, they barely saw their banner in the app.

Erkan Deveci of Deveci Games is one of the most outspoken developers. In an article on ITWorld.com, they said that they had 60 million requests in the first 24 days of April, but only 160,000 pits were filled. In a statement, a Microsoft spokesperson said: "Online advertising" "there will always be peaks and troughs", and April is exactly the end of the old event and the launch of the new event. The representative also said that Microsoft " is constantly improving " to ensure that developers will only encounter fewer troughs when using their platform.
