CNET recommends Microsoft Windows 8 to provide startup project management tools

reports from foreign media, the US technology media CNET recently wrote that many people may be waiting for the arrival of Windows 8
, this is not because Windows 8 has What a great performance, but the arrival of the new system gave us a reason to reinstall the system. Perhaps the new system will also give us better system startup management. Because for the previous Windows 7, when users install a certain software does not always mean that users need to continue to run the software, opening the startup management is especially important for Microsoft's next-generation operating system, Windows 8.

The following is the main content of the article:
Microsoft officially released the Windows 8 release preview this week. However, in this system, many programs are loaded directly after the computer is started. These programs are like uninvited guests. First let's take a look at the taskbar in the lower right corner of the desktop, where you can most intuitively tell the user which programs are running automatically in the background.

Microsoft SkyDrive icon living in them, SkyDrive service can help users automatically files on your computer to automatically sync with Microsoft's cloud file server, the service is what I really need to start-up of. But with the exception of SkyDrive, these other icons are completely meaningless to me, and it seems that it is not so easy to turn off their automatic boot options.
Just like the Google Music service with headphones in the picture above, the main purpose of the app is to help users find out if there are new songs in the computer that need to be uploaded to the Google Music server. Startup is not necessary, so I chose to turn it off in the feature settings. Fortunately, Google is still more user-friendly to provide this feature off option.

But in addition to Google music from other closed system startup items will not be so simple, notice the two small arrow icon represents Microsoft's Live Mesh service. Live Mesh is the mainstream file synchronization service before the launch of SkyDrive, which allows users to access the content of the computer from any location, no longer need to send the file to themselves by email, nor to synchronize the traditional methods such as storing the file on a USB drive. . Since the user already uses SkyDrive, there is no need to start Live Mesh. However, the user cannot find any way to prevent the app from starting automatically unless it is completely uninstalled.
Another camera graphic icon in the notification bar is the Adobe Image Downloader, part of the Photoshop Elements 6 suite, which helps users take pictures from a digital camera. But for this software I have not found any options to turn off its automatic startup. If the user installs Photoshop Elements 6, the system will automatically install an Adobe application management tool, its sole purpose is to constantly check whether the Adobe software on the user's computer is updated. In the software's settings interface, there is also no option to prevent it from starting automatically.
In fact, users who have used Windows for a long time may have discovered that some applications in the Windows system will run automatically by default, which greatly reduces the speed and efficiency of the system. Apple Mac OS X also has this problem, but it is obviously not as serious as the Windows system.
After reading the history document of CNET, I found that there are some articles in the website such as “How to manage the system booting item”, but after reading it, I found that such an article is too puzzling. Ordinary users may not understand the meaning of each step.

this article are usually described where the user enters the registry, and then find a key and then modify its properties to cancel the automatic start of a software. Of course, the previous version of Windows also provides a task manager to help users manage system add-ons, but how many users can figure out which of csrss.exe or disnoted.exe is the system key startup item? In fact, disnoted.exe is iTunes' mobile device support related program, but I have seen countless web pages describing it as malware or Trojan.

So I think that Microsoft needs to think twice before building the Windows 8 boot-up mechanism. After all, for Windows 8, which is currently highly expected, the system should provide a better startup control mechanism to solve this problem.
