Microsoft Win8 user interface will be greatly modified

According to the online edition of Forbes magazine, Microsoft announced on its official blog on Saturday that it will make major changes to the Windows 8 user interface, including the elimination of the introduction of Aero glass effects since Windows Vista.

Aero glass effects enable the system interface of the title bar, taskbar, etc. to have a transparent frosted glass. In Windows 8, this effect will be canceled and replaced with a more flat and neutral effect.

In addition to aesthetic reasons, another important reason for Microsoft to cancel Aero effects is that this special effect takes up a lot of system resources and energy consumption. In order to enable Aero effects, Windows systems must use a computer graphics card, which puts a heavy burden on the system.

As Windows 8 needs to be optimized for a range of new power-consuming devices such as tablets and ultrabooks, Microsoft has to eliminate Aero effects that require high system performance and power consumption. Eliminating this feature will not only reduce the load on the graphics card, but also reduce the heat generated by the system, which is extremely important for ultra-thin and portable devices.
