Win Tips: Hidden Disk Partition Method Summary

To prevent misuse, we can hide the system partition.

Of course, the original Windows7 restore partition can be hidden for some minor cleanliness.

So how do you hide the system partition in the Windows 7 system?

Method 1: The Rubik's Cube is in hand, optimization is not good

Open the Rubik's Cube Optimization Master's Optimized Setup Master component and find the "System Settings"---“Hide Drives” function that will be needed Hidden C partition check, “ Save settings & rdquo;

The C drive has disappeared. .

This method is just hidden. Enter C:\\ in the address bar to open the system disk.

Whether it's hiding or restoring the display takes effect immediately.

If it doesn't work immediately, you can restart the explorer.exe process in Task Manager.

— Terminate explorer.exe in Task Manager and then create new explorer.exe task in “file”.

Method 2: Registry Modifications

To open the registry, you can choose to search for “regedit” in the “Start Menu>, Enter,

or open the Rubik's Cube Optimizer and find ““ in the application” System Toolbox”, open “ Registry Editor”

Open “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows \\CurrentVersion\\Polices\\Explorer\\”

Right click on the blank space on the right side and select “New Binary Value”. , renamed to “NoDrives”.

Double-click the key value and enter 00 00 00 00 (without spaces, enter directly, this is the system default value, all partitions are displayed, no hidden partition).

The first group " 00” represents the A-H disk, the second group "00"" represents the I-P disk, the third and fourth groups and so on.

Change the first group “00” to 01 to hide the A drive, change to 02 to hide the B drive, change to 04 to hide the C drive, change to 08 to hide the D drive, and change to 10 to hide E disk, change to 20 can hide the F disk, change to 40 can hide the G disk, change to 80 can hide the H disk (regularly 1, 2, 4, 8).

For example, if I hide the C drive, change the key value to “04 00 00 00”

If you are hiding two partitions, you can add two sets of numbers.

After the modification is completed, whether it is hidden or restored, it will take effect immediately. Directly back to “My Computer”, refreshed to see the effect.

If it doesn't work immediately, you can restart the explorer.exe process in Task Manager.

This method has the same effect as the Rubik's Cube Optimization Master, but it is hidden and can also be accessed from the address bar entry.

Method 3: Disk Management (used to hide the restore partition or reserve partition)

Right click on the “Computer” icon on the desktop or in the Start menu, then pop-up menu “ Management & rdquo;, open the computer management window (as shown below), you can see the "Disk Management" item on the left menu, open, you can see the hard disk partition.

Right-click on the partition to be hidden, select “change drive letter and path”, select “delete” in the pop-up window, and then pop up a warning window

This method deletes the drive letter and can never be displayed. This is not recommended for drives that are temporarily hidden.
